Fred Jr. and I will be attending the City Send Off tomorrow and we'd like to get a team jersey signed by all the guys. Any tips?

Any markers to recommend? Stick with black or try one of the metallic colors?

Do I need to bring a big board to put under it to make it easier to sign?

Any pro suggestions would be appreciated!

I had everyone sign my black keepers jersey last year in Silver. It's all faded and I have not washed it. I used a new permanent silver sharpie, maybe there's something better out there if you're using the black jerseys .

Thank -- I have a new home jersey. I think I'll go with the front.

Any suggestions on sharpie size? So many options!

Not that I have any experience getting jerseys signed but I'd recommend a regular sharpie rather than a fine point one. Also, bring like three of them. It'd be a bummer to have only one and have something happen to it. You don't want to have, say, Shelton sign your jersey and then walk away with your marker right before Villa gets there, ya know?

Definitely black sharpie for the home kit. Sometimes you won't even need a board to put underneath it. The players will just ask you to stretch the jersey a little so they can sign it. And take at least two - three markers. Although the players already have markers at the Send Off.

I had my son get his jersey signed last year. We brought a sharpie and some cardboard. The players all had their own pens, so our sharpie was just a backup. For the cardboard, I taped together 3 pieces from a box, so it was nice and thick. I sized it so that it could go inside the jersey.

Have fun. Hopefully, yours isn't as crowded as ours, as the players didn't really have time to spend to chat.

Other than missing out on Pirlo and Jack Harrison (both no shows), I think we did pretty well! That's Vieira at the top...

Also, I have a new favorite piece of memorabilia...

If you're Third Rail members, keep an eye out for training invites. Last year they did one in early October and everyone came over to sign at the end. Granted you'll have to take a day off of work and get up to Purchase, but it's worth it.

Thanks. He definitely did

Quote of the day when Matarrita came out, "dad, look how well dressed he is!"

Also, anyone know the deal with Adidas pants that are baggy and flared to the knee, but skin tight before? Almost everyone wearing them and they look kind of silly.

Harrison was one of the last people to come out yesterday. My mom was able to get him. I didn't see Tommy or Pirlo though.
