NYCFC have only played 2 games, 1 at home so there's no strong bond between supporters and the club.
I've heard this opinion from a lot of people on your side of the pond, but it's just not true. There are a lot of people on this forum who have supported this team since the day it was announced. There are a lot who have spent the last six months to a year on here discussing the club. Hell, a lot of us have been waiting for years for a local team that we could actually support. It's not like the supporter switch doesn't flip on until the first ball is kicked.
The truth is there is a very strong bond between a lot of supporters (especially those dedicated enough to spend their time on this forum) and the club.
So, this anger that you just walked into is not a bunch of people who decided to support the club already hating MCFC and the kit and all. It is dedicated supporters who feel a real connection to the club and were told that we would have a unique identity and then handed a MCFC copy kit without the kind of minor details that could have supported that promise. We were told that we had signed Frank fucking Lampard as our DP and he was plastered on billboards and interviewed as the new face of the club, then they turned around and told us that he had never really signed with us and would show up when he felt like it.
This is the anger of dedicated fans who disagree with some of the decisions made by our ownership. Same as I'm sure some of you Mancs will feel this summer when Toure, Kompany, Dzeko, and/or Zaboleta get the boot.
