[title Edit By Mod] Another Tired Argument About Manchester City And Lampard - March 2015 Edition

Over 6,500 have jacked it this time at Blackpool .maybe you can give an English perspective why cfg is hated .I get but why arnt nycfc held accountable in any of this ?
And by the way you never responded sunny winsford

They haven't, they've boycotted the games in protest. The second Oyston leaves, which he eventually will, they'll be back in droves.

The English perspective of why the NYCFC fans aren't leaving the club is because CFG have made it pretty clear from a long time ago that virtually everything is being run from Manchester. However, even the most simple of people must be able to understand that it can't be run that way forever - it's far too unwieldy. Eventually CFG will have to appoint NYC-based people to run the aspects they've been controlling, and when that happens there's every chance that those people will start arguing for NYCFC to do things more their way. Why should they hate the club when the club hasn't actually exerted itself over the parent yet?

It's bit like Nike and Umbro. When Nike bought Umbro, did we all go "well screw it, I hate Umbro now. I'm never going to buy another Umbro shirt". No, we all went "I can't wait for Nike to leave Umbro alone and let them do their own thing again", because just because Umbro became part of the Nike family didn't mean that it became culpable for everything Nike did to cheapen its products and steal its best contracts.

CFG bad?! Heard it all now:eek:

CFG have been fantastic in the way that they've supported MCFC, but seriously, they've made some poor decisions. Remember City Circle, and the way that they took everyones' money and then conveniently went silent on it when they realised they hadn't sold enough to complete their project? Remember the way that they've cancelled all the meetings they used to hold with fans under Garry Cook? Remember the way they keep ratcheting up prices, and the way they really made themselves look bad over the handling of the Hughes and Mancini sackings? They've not done many things on quite that level across the Atlantic, but the problem is that they have been making some, and they've made a handful compared to the infrequent ones in Manchester.

The thing is, while you and I are willing to overlook CFG's refusal to apologise for their mistakes because we are used to how they operate and they had won us over before they started getting things wrong, in NYC they never set the good impression before starting to make the little errors. Consequently, there isn't half the amount of goodwill towards them, because they haven't earned it there yet.

For the record, as others have said, this debate is one that's been had many, many times here, and people are tired of it. If you really want to discuss this, I think I'd rather we took it somewhere private and not subjected everyone here to it.

Hasn't tom glick been brought over to run it in the states.you know yourself the strings are pulled by ADUG not mcfc.
From my point of view NYC was kept totally in the loop.or are totally incompetent what lampard did or didn't sign either their hands are far from clean in any of this.but the buck gets shifted back to Manchester

Can I ask an honest question ,I understand why you don't like how cfg behaved I get that .
What I don't get is why you hate cfg but are prepared to forgive nycfc who fed you a pack of lies, surely you should hate both and walk away.?
Surely the pre contract/contract he signed just maybe someone perhaps even a lawyer might have checked it out ? To say they had no idea sounds unbelievable.

I do fault NYCFC for lying to us as well, I've stated that on this site numerous times. But, I do believe that they were essentially forced to lie to us by MCFC/CFG. Since they're the new kids in town, and owned by someone else, I doubt Reyna and crew had any control over what happened, and NYCFC also got screwed by ownership. Still, NYCFC hasn't apologized or even publicly acknowledge what happen, which still makes a bunch of us bitter.

You ask why I still stick around? Simple. I've been following the team since it was first announced in 2013, so I have a strong bond with them. That's two years before any games were played, so I'm willing to cut them some slack since we're dying for a football team here in NYC. I hope they don't pull this kind of shit in the future, though.

MCFC don't own NYCFC, the Shiek Mansour owns CFG which in turn owns the 3 'City' clubs.

CFG and MCFC are the same bullshit, but lets say they're different, MCFC was the main cause for what happened. They started it all, and they robbed us of our player, and were the driving force behind the lie to all us. Screw them.

Keep making excuses for your beloved Blues. They lied to us, took our marquee player, and in the end they got their asses eliminated from everything. Karma is a bitch.

Sure, maybe, but this is the worst I've ever seen. To top it all off, MCFC rarely used Lampard. He warmed the bench. Why go through all that then? Why?

Yes, but the thing is that where ADUG/CFG angers NYCFC fans is by making the club be too much like MCFC. It's like if your parents keep telling you "why can't you be more like your older brother?" - you end up hating your older brother just as much as you hate your parents, because he becomes a symbol of everything your parents are trying to force you to be.

Let's be honest, if CFG sold MCFC before they bought NYCFC then it's highly unlikely that NYCFC would wear sky blue and have lost Lampard to Manchester.

Grandma used to live in Cheadle Hulme before my grandad died, now she lives in Llandudno, as she tells me half of Cheshire does. It's because of her that I started supporting MCFC, she used to give me MCFC stuff for Christmas every year from the time I was a baby. Grandma on the other side lives in Congleton. I have a cousin in Macclesfield, and I'll be back there in a couple of weeks for his mum's funeral. I have an uncle who works in the GMP and has done match-day policing at both Manchester grounds. Most of my aunts and uncles have moved away but they all used to live there at some point. I even have a great-aunt who is a season ticket holder at the Etihad, in her 80s. I've been to Cheshire more times than I can count. Do you need me to draw you a map of the towns I can navigate my way around from memory?

I've noticed there's a lot of discontent on here about Frank Lampard not arriving on time, the colour of the home shirts, the connection with Manchester City, the manager of the team etc. The question I want to ask is why bother support New York City FC if it angers you lot so much? NYCFC have only played 2 games, 1 at home so there's no strong bond between supporters and the club. This isn't supposed to be a flippant or clever question nor I'm not having a cheap shot, like I've said in past post's that I consider myself a fan of NYCFC and wish New York City Fc Melbourne City FC and Manchester City all the success for the future. If you here to just bring up all this stuff all over again and constantly then you will not be welcome here.
This stuff was all covered and mostly forgotten. People move on. The Frank Lampard thread barely gets traffic. If you're not here to discuss NYCFC then move along. Everything you mentioned we had a proper reason to be upset and it's not like it all happened at once. We were happy then A happened so we were upset and voiced ourselves. Then we were happy and B happened which upset us and we voiced ourselves.
I think us supporters and he club are in better terms now then ever because of the fact we went through growing pains as any club will.
Now let's move on again and talk NYCFC.

Cheadle Hulme is God's own country, best place in South Manchester by far.

Got a feeling that I'm not welcome here anyway, been swore at and insulted numerous times. The question was about NYCFC. Cheers

Just trying to help. If you're on OUR web forum and portray yourself an MCFC supporter you WILL catch flak. By looking at your post history you're basically here to preach/defend MCFC.
So obviously people will be wondering what the hell you're doing here.
If I cared enough to make an account on Bluemoon and start posting in the same manner that you're posting here I would receive the same exact welcome.
Actually here's one for you. This past Saturday I went to the Madhatter to watch the MCFC game as I'm a fan and its the officially recognized Pub by MCFC here in NYC. I wore my NYCFC kit and literally was stated at the entire game and felt pretty uncomfortable.
So for you guys to tell us that we're 'sister' 'mother' whatever it is clubs I say bullshit.
The Lampard debacle created a BIG riff and it's not going to go away and MCFC won over no fans by doing that here in the states.
We have plenty of English members here that join and want to discuss NYCFC and they are welcome. On Twitter I support and always Retweet the 6th borough blues from UK because they genuinely want to support the club.
But I will not sit here and defend or protect you for coming here and pushing an agenda on OUR forum. As much as I'm a fan of MCFC and they're partially responsible for me founding this forum I leave my allegiances at the door as I ask everyone else. If you want to join here and talk MCFC there is a MCFC thread under 'Other Leagues' and you'll see the same people giving you 'insults' are in that thread supporting your club as well. No one on this website wants to be subject to another supporter who has shown 0 allegiance to our club telling us what's right and wrong. And if you for a second think you wouldn't feel the same way if the same happened to you on BM or whatever forum you visit for MCFC then you're lying to yourself.

Yes, but you ask questions that have been answered a million times already! A tip to avoid future conflict - search the keywords to your question before you start a thread. I bet you will find it has already been answered.

I can assure you if you ever came to watch a City match over in Manchester with your NYCFC shirt on you would be made more than welcome, I'd even buy you a pint! Maybe the people who were giving you grief were New Yorkers? I'm not preaching just asking questions which seemed valid, after all that's what forums are about! I do consider myself as a NYCFC fan as well as a Manchester City fan and a Melbourne City fan. I rarely post on the BM football forum because it's full of football bores. But from day one of posting on here I didn't feel welcome, true I've made some comments but all in jest. But most are serious and I'm just interested in the club. Thought of coming off here but I want to find out more and interact. I regularly visit other European club's to watch games, Inter, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Anderlect to name a few.
