Neymar officially opts out of Copa America and chooses to play the Olympics.
My guess is he chose the olympics because they are in Brazil and it's nice to be home. No way is Olympic soccer bigger then the Centenario glory.
add to that that brazil never won the gold in the olympics
CONCACAAF teams play regularly in Copa America. Mexico was the runner up in 2001. US even got 4th place in 1995.Also, add in the fact that this version of Copa American Centenario is a bit contrived with the arbitrary addition of the North American teams. I could see some players viewing it as less historic due to the deviation of the typical Copa America format. I'm not saying I agree but I could see some SA players potentially using it a justification not to participate.

That, and there are 6 CONCACAF teams, when there are usually just 2 at most.My mistake, isn't there something different about this year? Is it just that it's the first time held outside of SA?
Yeah 16 instead of 12 teamsThat, and there are 6 CONCACAF teams, when there are usually just 2 at most.

Neither do I, but I'll wager a guess that it involves a lot of "brand synergy" and sponsored swag, with possibly the occasional Soccer Personality contributing to the brand synergy while wearing sponsored swag.i dont know what usually happens in them.

The Terminal 5 event appears to already be "sold out", mere hours into the first day of pre-sale. Or, at least, the tickets they're calling "Free - Copa Ticket Buyer".
