Yeah it struck me as a bit strange. Also, why have the idea of an "extremist group" if groups aren't policed? As said before, it's unclear what this designation means, practically speaking.

was gonna post this in other thread. this only comes out after huffington post article came out. even though its been known some of these guys been there for years
i feel like this has always been their policy and what theyve always done anyway. Theyre putting this out because of the media attention behind it. Not necessarily a bad thing to have a statement out, but i dont think any policy has actually changed.
i said in other thread that if they had a statement out last year it may have cooled the waters in terms of outlets picking it up ( even if nothing came from it) and optics of FO would of been better when it came to this. now that it has a bigger media outlet covering they gotta say something.
