Manchester United Fans - The Truth

Keep living in a dream world. There's nobody hating Manchester City here because of allegiances to other teams. They're hating Manchester City because of the 4-5 people who have reading comprehension problems and can't see that United, Liverpool, or anyone else have nothing to do with this. Nobody brings up anyone in England but those people. This is an MLS forum for an MLS club based in New York. This entire thread is based off the fact that the forum is overrun with United fans or something. I know of one, and he's the VP of our supporter group. Deal with it.

Mate, I think us Man City Fans are fine with you developing your own identity and embrace that. What has pissed us off is the anti city rhetoric that one thread in particular spouts.
I am fine with supporters or followers of other teams aligning themselves to your project. Many of these supporters (not all) will support your New York Club with pride. As I have said previously, I kept an eye out for Cosmos because of a very old connection. Now I have switched and want NYCFC to have the success in New York.

What pisses us off is the mods, moderation of City fans and there points of view on other threads. I couldnt find it earlier but have now... The thread that I link at the end of this post in particular is bollocks.

We have mods and others openly disrespecting the City connection, which at the end of the day is always going to be there. (And City fans have not said anything of note at the start of this thread)

Maybe the mods need to look at the policies. It is New York City, your club, your fanbase. Discuss New York City and ban mention / comparison to ALL other teams (especially non MLS).

Fine don't allow comparison with MCFC, but don't allow anti MCFC.

Man, I can't wait until NYCFC actually start doing something (anything!) so that this place discusses that team above all else.

Fans of NYCFC that put the club over every and any other club already discuss the team above all else. Sorry that sentence is a tongue twister haha.

There will be plenty of fans in NY that refuse to support NYCFC because of the MCFC.

Do I respect them? No. I think they suck.

Why? Because my only concerns are that people support this club, support the New York soccer scene, and support US soccer (MLS, NASL, USL, etc), in that order.

Why are those my concerns? Because I live in New York, not Manchester or London or Liverpool, etc. I was born here, I was raised here, my history is here and my future is here. EPL is great, their fans are passionate and devoted to their clubs; I love watching it. But I want to grow the sport and my club so I don't have to rely on the EPL.

What does that mean? It means I don't care what happens in Manchester, blue or red. And before you go on a rant about how I, or others here, want to separate themselves from MCFC or hate MCFC, then just stop.

For many of you this will always be your MCFC owned-toy, at worst, and an extension of your brand, at best. I can swallow that we are an extension of your brand. Hell, we welcome it with open-arms, the ownership, the money, the scouting network. We respect the ownership and we love the ownership. We can never break the link between the two clubs and we don't want to.

Speaking of ownership, who ultimately owns this team is Sheikh Mansour and he isn't from Manchester or New York. So you can say that NYCFC would have never happened if it wasn't for MCFC. And this incarnation would not have, you would be correct. But MCFC would have never rose to such great heights (buying world class players, winning titles, buying clubs abroad) if it wasn't for the Sheikh. Yet many of you have and would have supported the club no matter who the owner was and if you won or not.

Why are NYCFC fans expected to pledge their allegiance to any other club but NYCFC? Why should we be expected to assimilate anyone else's culture because someone said so?

I'll tell you what, we won't. This will never be Man City USA. This is New York City, we aren't second to anyone.

No one has ever said New York is inferior to Manchester (though don't bank on us all agreeing and don't confuse size with love for the City). This thread was about something completely different and seems to have lost its way anyhow.
So Mr New York through, yes I am talking to you. Find your club, find your identity, find your ethos, and cut out ALL the other teams. Don't acknowledge an EPL side (City included), don't dis respect another premiership side (City included) on your forum. Then there is nothing to fall out about, and we pull in the same direction.

Show me where a mod disrespected your team.

Just as you are allowed to post disrespectful content about Manchester United others can post equally disrectful content on City. Either way it is all mindless drivel and if it does not stay on topic it will be removed accordingly.

Don't you think it's a bit 'biting the hand that feeds' though if outright disrespect is allowed to the 80% owner of NYCFC?

I'm tapping out. You really believe that what you're saying is gospel. To even attempt to convince you otherwise would be akin to convincing a fish that he can walk on land.

I'll see you in other threads I hope, and hopefully at some games. You're a good guy but the ManC thing is too much for me to want to deal with anymore. Cheers!

Lo and The People said "Praise Sheik Mansour and Bless Him. For He has purchased out Beloved Manchester City." And a great fervour arose and the people rejoiced. And the
disciples in New York, Melbourne, and Yokohama followed him and yet there were those who distained Our Beloved Sheik and cried Nay! We would have had a team here anyway! We don't need him nor the MCFC and they were wrong and eventually smited.

Praise be to Colin Bell

And so the CFG thing comes in - suddenly everyone is a business man, and not a football man.

On 31st May 2007, Thaksin created UK Sports Investments Limited and then created UK Sports Investments on 18th June 2007. The first company oversaw all happenings at Manchester City, and then, for whatever reason, the second company was formed and that looked after the first one, meaning it was in charge.

As soon as Thaksin sold the club to Mansour he liquidated both.

In the summer of 2008 the Abu Dhabi United Group was formed and that was for the purpose of taking over Manchester City. So in reality Mansour owns no club, the ADUG does.

Later a company by the name of the City Football Group was established to do all the administration between all clubs, once NYCFC had been formed.

ADUG owns CFG, which runs the admin between Manchester City, New York City, Melbourne City, and Yokohama F. Marinos.

How fucking boring was all that?

Tiger jones......
What I mean by NYCFC fans never understanding is.....
I take my little girl to school, and rags ram their success down my throat.
I take my little boy to school, and rags ram their success down my throat.
I go to work and rags ram their success down my throat.
I come home from work and take my boy to scouts, and rags ram their success down my throat.
I take my girl horse riding, and rags ram their success down my throat.
I go to the pub,and rags ram their success down my throat.......it's been a constant barrage for over 30 years of abuse by rags towards city fans.
The tide has well and truly turned and all of a sudden WE are buying the league.I get shit because we spent £36 million for aguero, overpriced they reckon...but they spend £30 million on camel gob in 2002 and it's a bargain,£28.1 million in 2001 for veron,£25 million for anderson in 2007,the list goes on,but yet city are buying trophies.
Them parasites have been doing it for decades and now the boot is on the other foot, they don't like it,they want it stopping...their arrogance is second to none, hence their song"we're man united,we do what we want".
Unless they win it they don't want to acknowledge it....utter parasites, the lot of them.
Unless you've lived in manchester and been blue, you'll never understand the shit we have put up with.....

Rant over........sorry :)

I get it and you'll get no argument from me, I don't like them either. Maybe those NYCFC supporters with united leanings are just not diehards. Not that I think that there's anything wrong with that but it would explain it. Once again I just think you need to appreciate the fact that the game is just now growing here and many fans are new to it all or don't hold strong enough feelings one way or the other. Or value NYCFC over this new team regardless of ownership. I know it's hard for some of you to grasp but not everyone is the same.
