COMPLETED SIGNINGS
1. Signing Keaton Parks (MF, 21, FIFA rating 69) on 1 year loan from Benfica

He was officially announced as a signing by the club (1/19)
2. NYCFC own the 19th pick in the MLS Super Draft tomorrow.
We traded away $75k in GAM to move up a few spots to take a backup keeper. (1/11)
3. Re-signing Ebenezer Ofori on loan (MF, 23, FIFA rating 71)
It happened very quickly and was made official today. Feels like we missed out on other targets (1/22)
4. Signing Justin Haak (MF, 16, FIFA rating NA) to 1st squad contract.
Justin was announced as a Homegrown signing by the club today (1/24)
5. ROFR on Lucas Venuto (F, 23, FIFA rating 70) from Vienna.
Rumored he would be signed by NYCFC. Looks like he's headed to Vancouver. But NYCFC seemed to wrangle $150k in GAM from VAN for signing him! (1/25)
6. Releasing Jo Inge Berget (F, 28, FIFA rating 70)
Both player and team have agreed to mutually terminate the contract. (1/25).
7. Signing Juan Pablo Torres (MF, 19, FIFA rating 61)
There was no chatter, but the club scooped up this young American from Lokeren in the Belgium league. (1/25)

DEAD ENDS
8. Re-signing Yangel Herrera (MF, 21, FIFA rating 68)

It's confirmed that he has been transferred from ManCity to La Liga's Huesca (1/15)
9. Signing Kevin Quevedo (MF, 21, FIFA rating NA) from Alianza Lima
Kristan Dyer reported that NYCFC is no longer interested in him. Multiple sites report he's not going to MLS. (1/13)
10. Signing Hannes Van der Bruggen (MF, 25 FIFA rating 71) from KV Kortrijk.
There was a Belgian article that said he was considering a move to MLS (not necessarily NYC). Seems he was targeted by NJRB, not NYC. Van der Bruggen was targeted by Red Bulls: https://www.hln.be/de-krant/new-yor...gen~a43d52e3/?referer=https://t.co/C1jcfqiMoZ (1/22)

12. Signing Alexandru Mitrita (AM, 23, FIFA rating 71) from Universitatea Craiova
News came out today that NYCFC is pursuing him with a $6mm transfer fee attached. He's only 5'7". Latest out of Romanian press is our $6mm offer was rejected. (1/25). https://www.fanatik.ro/craiova-refuza-oferte-mitrita-18748452
https://www.dcnews.ro/mitrita-oferta-uriasa-raspunsul-craiovei_633939.html
13. Signing Kwaku Owusu (CB, 18, FIFA rating NA) to a HG contract.

14. DP3 (?, ?, FIFA rating ?)
Dome was quoted that the club is looking to sign a 3rd DP in the next 1-2 weeks. Could he have meant Alexandru? (1/25)

New York City FC and Jo Inge Berget Mutually Terminate Contract

New York City FC and Jo Inge Berget have agreed to mutually terminate the forward’s contract, the Club announced today.

The Norwegian international striker made 23 Regular Season appearances for the Boys in Blue in 2018, scoring four goals and recording three assists.

Berget, 28, joined City from Malmo FF in January 2018 and helped his team to a third place finish in the Eastern Conference. Before NYCFC, Jo made 104 appearances for Malmo (with 38 goals and 20 assists).

New York City FC would like to thank Jo for his contribution to the Club and wish him well for the future.
Best news I’ve seen this offseason

Plus we got 150,000 in Garber bucks for a player we didn't even have on our roster. I can't understand this fanbase.
we already have GAM and TAM and MAM out the ASS. At some point, somebody has to cut a check for a top notch player for it to actually matter.

MAM = mis-allocated allocation money.

So the greatest players in our club's history who will forever be a fucking MLS legend and can still play damn well is leaving. Logically, we must have some sort of replacement offensively.

I can’t wait for our first historic lineup of TAM and GAM.

Eventually, you need to field 11 players on the pitch.
I mean it's not like they have any time left. We lost our star striker who scored 14 goals and was hurt all the time, there's no way we can survive without that. This is going to be worse than 2015, woe is us!!!

Starting left back.

Proven first division talent.

Someone with some leadership qualities.

Something that indicates there’s a plan and not just “oh, this guy is okay, lets sign him up.”
I agree with your left back assessment, but the next three not so much.

Ring and Chanot have clearly become the leaders of this team. We're not missing leadership on this club. (Unless you were jabbing st Dome, in which case, who knows, I can't decide what I think of him yet)

We have top tier talent at several key positions. We do need a top tier striker, and if we fail to land one soon then yes, we have a major problem. Despite the sentiment on this site, we still have a top third roster in overall talent, and a top notch DP striker I think puts us back into the top 5 and in serious MLS Cup contention.

I think the strategy has become very clear. Gone are the days of signing all the starters you need each offseason, here are the days of advancing our youth products while acquiring other young developing players.
