Don't worry that's not our style. We'll let him go to college so we can waste GAM on him in the draft for no reason in a few years.

Just because a player goes to college does not mean that we lose their MLS rights. We can sign a homegrown player from college. Look at Jordan Morris who played until his senior year at Stanford then signed a HG deal with Seattle.

If anything, having NYCFC academy players in college lets them play until we have a USL team.

Looks like NYCFC wants to pay Alexandru $1mm Euros a year. No way they can TAM him with a $6mm transfer fee on top of that. They can do a max $2mm fee if they pay him $1.13mm on a 5 year deal to keep him as a TAM.

If this is our big DP striker I’m going to be very disappointed.

Mitrita can be the transfer of the year in League 1!

New York City FC insists on Craiova jewelry! According to sources www.sport.ro, Mitrita is offered a salary worth one million euros per season in the MLS! The player really wants the transfer, but Craiova is priced. At this point, the University wants the NYFC to pay the € 6 million termination clause, which the club heads are trying to avoid.

If Mitrita leaves 6 million in New York, Craiova is the most important lobster on the transfer market for a club in Romania in recent years! The Oltenians paid for Mitrita only 800,000 euros a year ago, when they activated the final purchase clause from Pescara!

Oh man, Lewis came off the bench and blew past a Panamanian defender on tired legs? That's so impressive!!! You people are so simple lol

I don't remember past offseasons too well, but were so many posters absolute dick fucks last year, or are they just getting after it this year?

It certainly seems like the frustration among the fanbase is the highest it's ever been.

Can we, like, give the guy a chance first? Jeez. What if he comes in and scores 20 goals this year? Give him a chance. Just because he's making $2M doesn't mean he's not a good player.

$1.3mm. But that’s not the point. DP is the one place on the roster we can get as close to a sure thing as there is in soccer. Why not spend $7mm and get Nani? It’s the same price vs the cap. Or $2mm on Vincent Janssen? There are so many options at DP and with a much higher floor, production wise. Do we need another DP on our roster who doesn’t start regularly?

Because as we've seen with Lampard and Pirlo, spending silly amounts of money doesn't always get you what you need.

Maxi Moralez makes what, $2 million a year? He just had an MVP-caliber season. If we get this guy and he scores 20 goals this year, I don't care what his salary is.

Thanks for mentioning a 36 & 38 year old signing. Nani is 32 and Janssen 27. I want a proven player in his prime we can pencil in as our starting striker every match. Not a kid who’s only scored in the Romanian league. We already have Medina as a DP project. We don’t need 2.

"Yangel Herrera and Saad Abdul-Salaam will be out of contract on December 31, 2018. The Club has extended a bona fide offer to Abdul-Salaam, which allows the club to retain his right of first refusal. "

We didn't waive him, but he's out of contract and not on the roster. NYCFC still has his MLS rights. He could sign with any club in another league for free. If another MLS team wants to sign him, they would have to compensate NYC.

And we seem to have had this discussion about every 2 weeks since roster announcement day and then we forget.
