Official Vent Thread

The thing that has irritated me the most in the last couple of months is the absolute lethargy that seems to have infected our team. When we win the ball back, we don't press in numbers or at pace - it's left to one or two guys to break away and everyone else stays spread out in their positions, seeming like they don't want to help.

When we have the ball and start to press up, people are slow to help one another, or are just too far apart to create any decent passing triangles and when we inevitably lose the ball they don't chase it down or try to win it back.

Even towards the end of the DC game when we had ITS bounding down the right trying to make something happen, there was no support, no one anywhere near him. Throughout that game there were attempted nice passes that just went nowhere and there was no one to challenge for the lost ball, or even to challenge the payers that were subsequently breaking towards our half.

We had great pressure at times in the Vieira days which enabled us to keep possession - someone would challenge for the ball and a teammate would be close by, or in the same press, ready to create some one-twos when the ball did break.

Now when I watch the games it just drives me to despair watching our half-hearted team plod around the pitch assuming one or two of their team mates will make the magic happen. We seem to have lost our urgency and cohesion as a unit. The best kinds of footballers, to me, are ones that grab the game by the scruff of the neck and try to make things happen, not people who sit back and just assume things will go their way, whether that's running back to help the defence, or just putting your foot in to a 50-5o trying to get the break of the ball. Right now we have very very little of that urgency or desire and it's killing our game.

Should we do some Dome Torrent missing milk carton costumes for the Halloween match?
I was thinking that we should present Dome with a Patrick Vieira costume for Halloween.

I don't want this turning into a Antoine Griezmann blackface problem.

It's going to be funny as hell when Torrent leads this team to MLS Cup in 6 weeks and we all pretend we weren't dragging him mercilessly the last several weeks of the season.

If that happens, I will donate my holiday bonus to either City in the Community or a Catalan Independence charity

Man, I’ll own it. I’ll eat crow if that happens. But it ain’t happening. Turtle Drama is a managerial imposter.

Doug was a good rep. Totally set up my son at his birthday party last season, which is one reason I am keeping my tix for next year.
Surprising he’s leaving, but appears to be for something outside of sports (if I read his letter correctly), so can’t blame a person for a career choice and opportunity.

I bet he did the honorable thing and gave his two weeks (or more) notice while not creating confusion and uncertainty with his accounts.

There are few of the original crew of reps left. Besides Doug, Dan Steeves and David Hiller are the only names I recognize currently on the Fan Services staff list from the early days.

I'm not surprised and I don't think this reflects badly on the team or anyone. This was an entry level, or just post entry level job for a lot of these reps, and there's only so much room as you go up the ladder.

Chris Carra has been there since the beginning. He's manages premium tickets. He's great.
