There are 2 types of people in the world:
1. People who get annoyed when other people complain too much about NYCFC.

This is like my all time favorite TV character. Used to love to watch Sanford and Son every Thursday night on syndication after wheel and before Cosby. Grandma's house. Where someone would have to go outside and twist the antenna to try to improve the signal.
There are also shitburds who sell sateen sheets with high thread count numbers at discount prices and claim them luxurious.
Percale or nothing.
This is the fanciest shit ever. I'm kinda upset that I know what you're taking about.

I'm not kidding. It's nearly impossible for me to sleep without percale sheets. The RH italian vintage sheet sets we bought when we got married finally gave up the ghost. Snowe home has the best I've found that aren't $400. After 5-6 washings, they start feeling pretty good. RH started using a different facility, and they kept the name and high price, but quality dropped off a cliff.
I've just come to understand that there are no great deals to be had on sheets. Anyone reading this who doesn't understand the difference should make sure and never buy percale. You'll be stuck buying only expensive sheets for forever.
I have heard the LL Bean percales were good value. But I'm happy with Snowe, so I won't risk it to save $40. You sleep on this shit every day. It's less than pennies over the useful life.
I've used shitty sheets forever, and I'm also an expert sleep-on-the-couch-er
Big fan of Snowe. Didn't buy their sheets though. I order the bundle for eating and drinking when I moved to a new apartment recently.

Southern Living magazine was a coffee table staple in my home (when I was a kid).
And Aziz ain't even attacking the sateen vs. percale. Ain't no sateen sheet ever going to be hotel quality.
So, the house across the street from me just went up in flames... No one was home, so no one knew about it until it was way way too late. The house is a gonner. Sad, especially since there were two cats inside.

And that's why it's just incredibly impractical for our climate in this country. I don't think many of us would be looking forward to spending evenings outdoors from December-February.
I prefer stadiums where the turf rolls in and out. Too hard to grow grass with a retractable roof.
