I’m with you. Looks like we’ll have to wait until we host to make the World Cup cause Greg is just wasting our time.

yea. i've said that before.

this is a friendly, yes. but it's mexico. it's a statement game. we have to put our best players out there. long and zimmerman look completely lost. pulisic doesn't have any help up top at all. zardes is a non-factor. mckennie and pulisic are doing all the work. steffen's distribution is horrific too. damn columbus crew bullshit. #berhalterOUT.

Getting the news is this thread after seeing it elsewhere.

Taty Castellanos has been called into the Argentine U-23 team for two friendlies during the October FIFA break. It falls in the period between Decision Day and the first round of the playoffs when MLS is not playing any games.

It's his first call up to any of his nation's teams.

Congrats Taty!

that explains why he was interviewed by Ole (argentina sports outlet) a couple weeks back, its the same one that is announcing the squad. damn, this increases chances that hes gone in 2020.

i would think people are keeping an eye on him for sure, but they will wait to see if he can replicate the performance next year before they start coming after him. i see him leaving in 2021 or maybe in 2020 during the mid-season transfer window. all i know is, NYCFC better put a pretty penny on him. Taty has potential to become world class if he improves on his two biggest flaws - flopping and improved 1v1. he's got the work ethic for sure, so i see bright things in his future.

true but adding that hes a "u23 argentina striker" adds to the hype.

proud of him for getting recognized. but shame he won't be home training with the guys.. working on his distribution and improving it. instead he'll be at the camp, sitting on the bench and watching steffen mess up his distribution time and time again. :p

And here we go... let's hope nobody comes back injured cause this is a huge chunk of our starting lineup.

Thanks to the bye. We have 8-10 days from any of these players last match to our first playoff game.

6FD4EDE1-45F8-49BD-B880-0F2FB374745B.jpeg

That adds another advantage to the bye:

1. One less game required to win Cup.
2. Cannot accumulate a yellow card suspension.
3. Plays the first match vs a team away & on short rest.
4. Players get extra time to return from international play.
