"This Monday (29), according to the website "Bahia Notícias", New York City advanced in the negotiations to have striker Thiago Andrade, from Bahia EC / BRA. Also according to the portal, the negotiations are in the stage of contract exchange between the two teams, which agree on the final details. We still haven’t replaced Mackay or Mitri or Heber.
Hopefully the Santi Rodriguez thing is true and he can play on the wing or attacking from further back. I would hope that he would be an upgrade to Mackay and upside to have the skill of Mitri (and actually stay here). Though I haven't seen anything recently on it and may have missed something. We still have a ways to go though, particularly at striker as Heber should be looked at as nothing more than a bonus if we get anything out of him.

Has Amundsen joined the team yet? Is he in country?

Crooks on the latest SITC podcast noted that Amundsen has a Visa appointment on 3/31 and then has to quarantine for 7 days, so there's a slight chance for him to be with the team for the friendly against Hartford on 4/10.

Hope that helps!

And to clarify further, Crooks did say, "assuming the Visa appointment goes well, he can then travel here and begin his mandatory quarantining" (paraphrasing). Not sure what the chances are of a Visa appointment going poorly, but did just want to clarify that he has to be able to obtain his Visa at that appointment.

Rodriguez in and Taty out, I guess.
I take it you mean this:

If the report is accurate then Palmeiras finally made a formal offer. While we want to accommodate Taty, nobody's required to take any specific offer, and no matter the compensation, I don't see how we can let him go before June, unless we've got someone lined up to announce imminently.

hmmm this is probably why he didnt actually go to play with the Argentina U23 for friendlies in japan. a deal must be close.

EDIT: its also interesting they are not looking for a loan any more. they straight up want to buy him.

Brad linked to an article in his Q&A that quoted David Lee thusly:

“The international market has been incredibly slow, particularly in January,” Lee said. “If they have the financial capacity to hold onto an asset until the summer rather than taking a depressed price now, everybody seems to be hoping that the market will be stronger and prices will increase this summer. Not every club is in the position where they’re able to, and obviously if they get a fantastic offer that you need to accept, you let the player go, but we are seeing that lots of clubs are trying to hold onto their players until the summer in hopes of a more robust transfer market.”

He's telling us, today, that we should not be expecting anyone of consequence before the summer.

I missed that. Thanks.

so if the translation is correct....and if in fact true. Then nycfc rejected a $2.5M for 60% of Taty's rights. Apparently other tweets say nycfc want $4M.

I wonder if they would have accepted $2.5m if Heber was completely healthy, or we had another top striker on our roster.

Just curious if our asking price is going higher because of our limited depth.

Transfermarkt does list his value at $4.4m, though we've seen many cases of players being bought well above or below their figures.

Some interesting stuff in that interview, haven’t listened to the whole thing yet. Ronny alludes to some locker room/personality clashes last year which shouldn’t come as a surprise to us.
