I guess we have to see what manager Eric Wynalda thinks we have, but obviously he wants to see Poku with an increased role on the field. T-Mac is competition.
We'll just have to scour through the training photos and figure out who isn't there.

4-3-3 is likely coming to NYCFC with Vieira. How would you play it?
Does Vieria use a false 9? I posted this a few pages back as my idea for the best use of Poku:
That FA RW spot can probably be filled with a EDS loanee. Maybe another FB too, but I'd prefer the CB and DM spots filled by someone who would be here longer than a year.
Mix would get plenty of playing time in this formation, even though he's not a first-choice starter. He backs up both Lampard (injury risk) and Pirlo (Euros), and can be used frequently as a substitute and spot starter in Cup matches or just to give the older guys rest. Not to mention, he would step in full time as a replacement after this season.
Based on current roster only (Angelino and Facey are included) - no what-if players:
Villa Mullins Taylor
Lampard Mix
Pirlo
Angelino - Facey - Mena - Allen
Johansen
I'm not smart enough to figure out how to get Poku on the field. All bets off with new players coming in.
FA RW - This should be Khiry. This is where Vieira needs to show chops and gusto. I will be keying in on his development of Poku, Shelton and Mix.
FA DM - EDS loan for sure. Need young capable legs there.
FA CB - Do we dare ask for (I can't even believe I'm typing this shit...) Lord Kwame here? He's 28 but he SHOULD be a better baller. Can Vieira bring it out?

Agreed, but depth is always good. Not picking on you, but people around here always seem content to have just one player for each spot. Villa is an injury risk, it would be nice to have at least 3 capable starting winger types.
I'd love a long term solution here.

Word is he played injured. I agree though that I want a new permanent LB, and to give Iraola a second chance with Allen waiting in the wings if he continues to flounder.

The week after MLS Cup is when all the clubs have to say if their keeping a player for next year. So there is s lot of dropping/waiving of players, trades and drama. Still it gets busier in January for sure.

Agreed on Allen. I like him, but I think it's true he's better on the right side. And probably best as a backup.
As for Poku, I really don't think he's a true CF. He doesn't play with his back to the goal, and doesn't keep the line. He's best out of a dribble. I think he's a CAM or, if he plays as a striker, a False 9 that drops deep to receive the ball (and then turn and dribble) or draw the centerbacks out to create running lanes for Villa and the other winger.
