It behooves me to cover all three teams! Their successes and failures drive my site! That is why I have dedicated reporters on all three beats -- and I add my flavor every now and again too.

But thanks brother. And I do post here a bit! More than Metrofanatic ... shocking? lol

Be well -- and ALWAYS appreciate the feedback.

Much love.
Let's be real. No one cares about the Cosmos and NASL dude. New York soccer is all about NYCFC and the redbulls. Until the Cosmos come into MLS, and I do hope that happens because I think it would be tremendous, the Cosmos are irrelevant IMO.

Chiming in here to say I care about the Cosmos and root for them to succeed. I think their major problem is location, and would be thrilled to see them refocus their stadium attempt to Coney Island.

thats not true...tell that to all the Pro/rel truthers....lol

The problem I have with the Cosmos and the NASL is this. What is their end game? They don't have one...oh yes they do, to be considered a top flight league by US Soccer. Well guess what, you can't just come in after all of the foundation and hard work has been done over the last 20 years by MLS and US Soccer to build up soccer to what it is today and say..."hey, we are a league here too, and we want to be considered a top league, or have he chance to be part of the top league through pro-rel...etc"...it just doesn't work like that. Where was the NASL 15 to 10 years ago when the MLS was (Joe Namath's voice) "strug-a-ling"? Now all of a sudden MLS has built up some momentum and they want in on the action, simply by saying...hey look we have 10+ teams and we play soccer....its not fair want to be considered Division 1 too!!!! The truth is the NASL made their bed and they have to sleep in it. They had a chance to partner up with MLS and become a defecto Division 2 league and then eventually be part of the pro/rel system, like 20-30 years from now, but they had bigger ambitions, they were delusional, and they still are to this day, and a big part of it is the Cosmos.

Just to give you some perspective. MLS after 20 year still fights everyday to be relevant in the crowded US sports landscape, and more importantly in the crowded football world landscape, and they are finally seeing some headway, albeit baby steps, which is to be expected. So if MLS is this irrelevant at this stage, what does that make the NASL? But no, the NASL wants to bypass all of the hard work and simply be given something just because they say so.

You missed the part where MLS doesnt have that parent-to-satellite loan move in black and white on their roster (rules) page?

And you may be the first person to say MLS is "easy" to understand. The rules are constantly changing.

You didn't like the socialist tag. I get that. But I have no problem with salary caps or tenure. I DO have a problem with clandestine allocation and discover claims. I have a problem when players cant move freely and when the market place is secondary to a "restrictive" salary cap that doesn't reward players based on merit, but based on need. That is unique to MLS.
Don't get holier-than-thou with me. I read about the Parent-satellite loan restrictions long ago. Not my problem if a blogger wanting to be considered a reporter can't keep up with the rules.

And reading is EASY, which is what you do when you read rules. It may not make much sense to you, but it did to me, so thanks for anointing me that honor of being the first. Rules change in everyday life - can't keep up with what's in MLS, I've got news for you - LIFE is a lot harder.

I couldn't care less about monikers describing socialism, capitalism, or what-not, so I wasn't offended by that. What got me was your ignorance to, and misuse of, the definition & concept of socialist vs capitalist - reporters should be experts with vocabulary, bloggers rarely are. You having a problem with clandestine claims is one thing, but it's definitely not a problem with Socialist concepts. Your argument also rings hollow because every player in MLS had the choice to join the league, or the NASL, or something else - THAT'S the most free market ability in the game. The players knew what they were doing and made a decision.

but but...MLS is evil and don garbers comments on Chattanooga and " This is America" how can we supoprt a limited market...free market needed, all those amateur teams MUST have the opportunity to go all the way to the top. and jamie vardy story wont ever happen in the USA. and leicester type team would never achieve what its achieving in the premier league in theUSA ...and whatever other reason i read on twitter

to be fair i guess, they allegedly are working with NPSL to have some sort of pyramid and i think create a division between them so the jump from amateur to professional team is not too rough on the club.

i wont lie i do like reading and following amateur team news etc as well as USL but no way do all these teams "deserve" to be in first division, especially when most of these teams are still amateur dont know how they will reaact in a professional setting, not everyone is built/ready for it.

thats it enough derailing thread from me, though i think there was a thread for this but i think its dead
