Sure anything is possible but he hasn't played thus far in his pro career (I'm not counting NPSL). It seems unlikely.

However the scenario that I have described to you seems very plausible.

I think he scored by filling space - pretty sure he was in the midfield and Mullins was up top alone.

We don't know what Poku's best position is. Which means he could be a Striker for PV.

Poku's best position is when the ball is at his feet.

They played two Strikers. Grabavoy was subbed in for Poku in the 87th minute.

Haven't been able to find a formation yet, but:

NYCFC's app lists both Poku and Mullins as Mids in that game (1 GK + 4 D + 6 Mids), which is funny if not really true.

It's a position of need, and he's a young player (24) . I don't really know anything about him, but at that salary ($70K), it could be a solid pickup.

I got that $70K salary info from Google, but I see now that was from 2012 (WTF Google!).

If the Union declined his option, he should be in the re-entry draft, but I don't see him on the list.

I would to. But the question is this - go find me a better LB on a free transfer that makes only $250k. There's probably someone out there but maybe there isn't. You probably can't trade for one and we can't pay a transfer fee for one.

These things don't happen in vacuums with the MLS Salary Cap rules. Ashley Cole may actually be the best value out there for a LB right now. Certainly better than Wingert who made $220k last year.

Cons: attitude, age

We'd have experienced, skilled backs on both sides. That would complement our likely young, inexperienced CBs.

I'd take the chance.

Big upgrade from KWS. Might even be an upgrade over Hernandez. I think it would be a good signing for NYC. Not great, but a good one. He has had injury issues in the past which is a negative, but I don't believe anything too significant. He is also just 24 which is always a plus.

I was also wrong. The option was declined last year before signing. Google isn't our friend.
