A transfer out...My money is on Chelsea. I told the kid, he's younger than me (damn I'm only 21, athletes are like the same age as me now, it's weird) to go to Europe then they played at Yankee Stadium. Also told him to work on his penalty kicks because I was up at 4 AM watching the U20 World Cup.

Looks very probably to be Chelsea. At least he won't be defending against us in derbys this season!

Also, Jeb Brovsky on trial in Revs camp. I hope they play him against us.
Of course it goes without saying at this point we have no idea how the season will shake out, but if you look at their potential lineup, 7 starters are 32 years old or older.

With those ages, almost zero chance they are ever all in the lineup together. Very interesting to see what comes of that team. Feels like it could either be great or a total train wreck.
LA is going to be great against slow methodical teams, and they're going to get waxed badly by the up-tempo teams like RB, Vancouver, and Columbus. I don't even think they'll be able to walk over us - we've gotten a lot younger with more pace and very likely have patched our sieve in the defense.
It's an interesting experiment. The classic line of thought is that MLS is a less technical but highly athletic league. This was echoed by Pirlo in his recent interview. It essentially seems like LAG and to some extent NYCFC are trying a model where they sacrifice some athleticism in order to get more players on the field well versed in technical european style soccer. Will be very interesting to see how it plays out.

They are going to have rocking chairs instead of a sideline bench. LAG has also petitioned MLS to have unlimited substitutions and subbed players being able to return. 30 minutes at a clip is all some of these guys can deal with.
