Jason Davis was talking today about abandoning the current system for a $25mm hard cap with a $8mm floor.
Wonder how transfer price would be calculated into a $25M hard cap.
Do you just allow unlimited transfer fees, as it encourages talent to be brought in? Or maybe a separate transfer cap with dollar for dollar cap credits on sales?

I would hate to be a fan of a mid-market club right now. Atlanta, now Miami, Red Bulls, and CFG. I assume these four and maybe Toronto FC (just based on willingness to spend) will be shoe-ins for the playoffs each year. Leaves about 3 spots for the other ~10 clubs. Nashville and Cincy fans are going to wish they were still in USL.

Oddly, that is almost exactly what Atlanta traded to get Nagbe from Portland. The splits were different, and there was an essentially irrelevant player thrown in, but the total dollars and international spot are the same.Nagbe trade is now official. $1.05 million in GAM/TAM plus an international roster spot.
