If it wasn’t then this has set the longest stint in the club’s doghouseLol I think it was Diego Martinez.

We spent that much on Heber? Wow. Still good business. But wow.
And they’re missing others we’ve purchased like Castellanos and Diego Rodriguez (the fullback)
And Diego Martinez came here on a free transferLol I think it was Diego Martinez.
That has him back somewhere between the next to last game at New England, and the first playoff game 3-4 weeks later. It will be good to have him back, but it also be good to avoid so much wear and tear on Alex Ring in the meantime. Also, one has to wonder if this keeps him out of the U-23 camp, which I think is coming in October. He needs to drink more milk. Recover well, James!

Maybe this is a blessing in disguise in regards to Jimmy remaining fresh for the playoffs. We don't have to worry about team chemistry at this point, and he won't participate in U23 camp right before the playoffs. Being young and never played a full season of MLS, this limits him to a 15 match + Playoffs season, so he doesn't hit that wall so many young players do.
You're assuming he comes back in 6 weeks and gets match-fit before the playoffs. That 6-8 weeks is a recovery timetable, you probably have to add at least another couple weeks to get match-fit. I still think this probably ends his season -- let's assume he's ready for soccer activities in 6 weeks, that's still right around Oct. 1. We're still looking at another 2-3 weeks to get match fit, which means he makes his return in the playoffs. Would Dome be willing to put him right into game action at that stage? Maybe, but maybe not.
Plus the guy can still ride the bike and run to keep his legs in shape...I would think he'd be practicing with the team those 2 weeks pre-playoffs to get match fit. Considering his talent level and chemistry with teammates, I think it's a safe move to have him back as his first match in the playoffs, especially at home. I wouldn't put starting Jimmy in the playoffs on par with say Mikey Lopez in our midfield.
Need to see some JP Torres now in Alex’s spot. Or Haak.
