that's a damn shame. ok so the point if these is to hand them out to a stranger on the street, who you overheard or struck up a convo with about soccer...

so wouldn't it be better to be able to see this person AT the game, sit next to them and continue that conversation?

I get the logistics of that would be pretty difficult, considering you could potentially be already surrounded by STHs or paying attendees..

i still think it's a good idea. i just hope the people who receive the benefit of the tickets actually use them. i don't want to see a 24K attendance go up on the board when it's obviously no more than 20K in the stadium. but sadly, that's probably going to be the case.

I always wonder if we did a Yankee Stadium / Citi split, would we see attendance plummet? Or would we see a huge increase because more people would want to go see in Citi Field?

I still consider it malpractice the club never tried to split between the 2 stadiums. Would not only help with scheduling, would have yielded real world data on where the best stadium location would be. But something tells me the club didn’t want any data showing they could draw better in Queens.

And then the clubs. YS has clubs. Citi has clubs. But they don't even begin to match up in terms of amenities or location. How the eff do you get people to pay $75 and up for premium club seats that don't even provide similar experiences one game to the next.

Do people have to buy both plans? If not, does this raise or lower attendance and overall STH? Do people who just buy one stadium maintain Founders status, and priority in line? Do people who buy both get double invitations to events? Do playoff games alternate? If the Yankees go to the WS and the Mets don't, does that mean people who buy only YS plans get 0 playoff tickets? Where do you host MLS cup?

I think the most reasonable way to deal with this would be to buy one season ticket and then get two seat selection screens, one for each stadium. Far less complicated. And that way you could still buy one plan or the other but there'd be no way to get both plans as that would just be a regular season ticket. But I don't think the club would want that option available. I don't think they'd want a "vote" but rather just want the most total tickets sold.

And scheduling would be determined by stadium availability, as it is now. If they're both available? It'd be hard to imagine the club choosing Citi Field over Yankee Stadium for playoffs or cup but it could happen if there are large individual-ticket purchasing differences between the two.

But really the problem with two single-stadium plans is that you'd never know how many tickets you'd get as those end-of-season games are all up in the air due to baseball scheduling. What happens if I get the "Mets" plan and they squeeze into the playoffs at the last minute and I lose two of the matches I've already paid for? That's a logistical nightmare for the club. Don't really see it working as separate half-season ticket plans. One full-season plan, then individual game tickets. That's really the only way I see it work if we don't have guaranteed stadium availability (and if we did we wouldn't even need this discussion as we'd always know when Yankee Stadium would be available).

And if I got a vote I'd pick Citi Field as the food is about 1000x better. *checks thread title. Uh oh, probably shouldn't mention that last bit as it's not the stadium thread*

First half of the game is played in YS, both teams take a bus to go over game plans, and then second half at Citi. Easy peasy!

Yes. Kind of nice of them, actually - although I guess I don't know how easy it is for others to access the same pre-sale.

ETA: We seem to be given the chance to buy on the same day as the Yankee season and partial ticket holders and ahead of the general public. I have to think we will be buying behind the Yankee season ticket holders, but this is still a nice benefit.
