I thought he did well but was far from a dominating and clean defender. He's quite young though, and coming back from a season long surgery recovery. I wouldn't start him but as a backup to rest tinnerholm and some usoc time, sure. He needs time to improve.
if it was dome id agree, but if its not him then i dont know where the kid stands in the depth chart.
this is a good point. Dome was high on playing the kids when they were ready. If we do get GvB, then I think he'd probably play Scally and Haak considering the dutch league clubs do play a lot of youth, especially their own academy players.
What I gather from that tweet is that we almost lost another top academy product.
Would you rather we only signed kids who had no other options? Our academy is killing it right now; of course our top prospects are going to have interest from other clubs.
Then I want training compensation that can go towards the MLS budget.

Don’t. This has been in the works for about 7 months.
Mata’s contract ends at the end of this year, so he’s not part of the 2020 roster - yet.

mgarbowski I figured there would need to be a portfolio of MLS games before a transfer deal like this would be made.

As the 1st and probably only member of the Scallywags, I'm happy for Joe. We've now had one player go to Dortmund for free and another to Monchengladbach for mucho bucks so this shows guys that if you join our academy and you have the talent and you work hard, you can go to Europe.

more minutes maybe in first team. number two RB or even plug in to fill any other backline hole.
that sell on clause and bonuses is something i like in the deal. which honestly is crazy for someone that has yet to even debut on first team.
Edit: in league play, forgot he played in that terrible 4-0 open cup loss.
