Regarding Tana a guy being signed from the same country as a very expensive, high-profile 18-year-old within days of each other. Seems like far too much of a coincidence to me. The team is also on record in the past saying that they intentionally try to sign players from the same region to help support each other.

Fair enough. I'm always up for a little deductive reasoning.

Of course, Jovan is gone and Tana is still here. That tells me he has a value all his own. Were he primarily a babysitter, he would have lost his job with the baby.

We entered the season needing a backup CB, and we had already paid a fee for Tana, and he was under contract; kind of hard to just send him away at that point.

Edit: Now that we have a team option and more depth on the roster, I think Tana's fate this year will be when we find out if they think his value extends beyond babysitting.
