2026 Roster and Transfer Discussion Thread

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't trying to disprove your statement. I just thought it was funny he was described as an "attacking midfielder" in the article when we first signed him.
Yeah, sorry. Didn't intend to come across as pushing back on you there.

I just wanted to expand on it. This is one of those topics that whenever I see it mentioned this way, I can't help myself but respond to it. And I don't mean to pick on Revfugee either. This is a common misconception and included even by some of the smartest MLS media type people and it irrationally drives me nuts.

IIRC the conventional wisdom on this forum before maybe 2020 was that Taty was a winger and his ability to shift to striker was questionable. I even think I might have held to that position for a while, wrong as it was.

As soon as I saw @Revfugee’s post I thought, “cue SoupInNYC. “

Magno watch update, he's in the kit release photos the team put out today. Seems like a promising sign or they did the shoot long ago and forgot to take him out.

photos are with pre-haircut keaton. if for some reason magno is no longer part of the team/plans, they just forgot to take him out.

perhaps he's on the move to the next club, but it would be strange to let him pick a number and select him to do these photoshoots if the team had plans to ship him out asap.

guess we'll find out one way or another within the next couple of weeks.

Maybe I’ve been thick but I just realized that our only successful signing of a pure striker since Villa was Heber. Our two best, Alonso and Taty, were signed as wingers. Not suggesting Agu should be up top but signing pure strikers hasn’t usually borne me much fruit.
I have to believe Heber would have been considered a success if he had stayed healthy. Then again, he probably would have limited Taty's development in that case.
