2026 Season Ticket Thread

so...been about a month now, anyone have an idea when we will receive these items?
So we can actually end up paying for our 27 sprint season tickets prior to actually receiving our 26 STH gift. Good grief.

I am assuming there is a vendor problem as the team Rewards is not allowing fans to use points for a signed merchandise.

I believe starting this month I am paying for this season’s tickets, sprint season tickets, and Etihad season tickets all at the same time. I don’t even want to look.

They start invoicing for Etihad this early if you signed up for the premium seats? Yikes.

Trying to avoid checking but I believe I had to pay a deposit with the contract and then the rest starting in May. If we win tomorrow, I will check. If we lose tomorrow I may try to rescind the contract 🤪

This is why I never understood the "they are going to start spending on players when the new stadium comes logic." They are trying to sell seats and collecting money now. If they think they can do those things while going after guys like Syalla for the DP spots, why would they be more ambitious once they already have everyones money?

Part of the theory would be the marketing of the new stadium - make the product more buzzy and newsworthy when they open when the most eyes and ears are on the club. Some of that may be to finish selling out the stadium but most of it would be to make sure that people are thinking about flying Etihad for a minute. I think they know they can sell the premium seats to suckers like me in the meantime.

Just throwing this out there: Is part of the reason why we recruit like a small market team is because of the fact that we have earned zero dollars from a home stadium and have been renters in our entire existence? I read constantly about clubs struggling because of their stadium situation.

I think this has been at least the soft consensus here for a while. Or maybe not and I was projecting.

But IMO CFG almost certainly took losses to build the early roster through the championship team. We cannot know, but I'm reasonably confident those have not been recouped. Since the Cup winning team, and just as importantly since both the Young DP and U22 Initiative came into effect, the club has very likely aimed to be at or near self-sustaining on player spend (combined salary + fees paid), using profits from transfer sales to subsidize the roster spend. Some failed incoming transfers have wiped away some of the gains.

The stadium will help increase revenue. Nobody outside the club and CFG knows how or when that will be reflected in spending. Maybe it takes a few years to recover the deficit incurred in 2015-2021 and they remain frugal until that happens. Maybe they split the added revenue 50-50 between deficit reduction and new spend. Maybe the split is 80-20. Maybe they're happy to be modestly competitive long term and just make money. Nobody knows.

I got my hats. They don’t face straight. The top and brim aren’t aligned. Garbage.
My hat is straight (although I'd call it a cap so maybe we're talking about different things). But I was afraid it'd be one of those "golf cap adjustment" types which I hate and that's what it is, alas. I do like it but I'm withholding judgement until I see if the size adjustment slips.

It’s actually a nice-but-not-City-blue teal color, but the embroidery is that nice sky blue.

I haven’t received mine yet - anyone else still waiting?

Nice of them to not send a shipping notification or anything.
