Am I the only one complaining to the sales reps?

Just curious what the vibe is like amongst supporters. I have a running list of complaints with the sales reps that never seem to get answered. At the top of the list is a real plan to build a stadium. Even if they found a location now it would be 6 years of soccer on a baseball field. When I go to the Hudson Derby in NJ I get goosebumps thinking of what it could be like for NYCFC. I'm getting tired of waiting...

Do you really think our ticket sales reps actually know anything substantial about the stadium plan? Do you think they know anything they're allowed to tell you?

As a season ticket holder, what other avenue do I have available to me to ask questions or voice complaints?

In 1957 the NY Giants needed a new stadium, couldn't build anywhere in NYC and moved to San Francisco. At the same time, the Brooklyn Dodgers wanted to build a new stadium at Atlantic Yards, couldn't get permission, and moved to Los Angeles. Biggest team sport in the country and both NL teams left NYC.
Football Giants needed a new stadium and couldn't figure it out in NYC and moved to Jersey in early 70s.
Jets tried to build in Manhattan couldn't make it happen and are in NJ.
NFL is the biggest most powerful league in US ever and can't get it done.
MetroStars wanted to build in NY but gave up and built in NJ.
Nets managed to build in Atlantic Yards 50+ years after the Dodgers tried, breaking ground 6 years after working a deal with a mayor who fully backed the project and together they barely made it happen.
The Mets built Shea after the City Council wrote special legislation to give them parkland to make up for chasing away 2 teams in the biggest sport in the country to the other side of the continent.
Mets and Yankees built new places 8 years ago by trading the land below the stadia they already had.

So if you think the only thing holding back NYCFC, a 2.5 year old team in the city's 5th biggest team sport, is a lack of STHs harassing ticket reps to show how much we care, then by all means keep calling.

This forum !!

I think we all share the frustration of not having a great SSS that the fans on this forum and in the city can attend.

However, i'm not sure the sales rep is the person to vent to.

Poor Poor chupalo this newbie will learn the Hard Way when one has questions like this he's only throwing bate in these shark infested waters . He should bluntly told there's 3 threads Get to know your Rep, The stadium. and the Official Vent . Then Please tell him he's a waste of forum space or something like that ! Do I have this Right ?

Good luck Dude you'll need it !!

Thanks for the luck and well wishes. The feedback I'm walking away with is:
  • newbies make good fish food but are also a waste of space
  • sales reps are people too, but they just answer phones and file feedback in the garbage
  • pay my NYCFC bill and keep my mouth shut
  • there is a support group (Official Vent) within the supporters group for those that need a hug
  • odds are really low that NYCFC will ever have a stadium in the boroughs
Did I miss anything?

There's always a need for STH to contact the club and make sure that voices are heard. Sometimes it can produce really very sigificant outcomes. However, as people have said above, the stadium issue is a difficult topic. If you read the stadium thread (and given how long it is, I don't expect you to, but if you did) then you'll see that we've all been through this range of emotions before. Different people take it different ways, and there are still people on this forum who get very frustrated in the exact same way that you do - the only real difference is that we've learned that expressing thoughts about the stadium to the club won't help.

The issue is - and, again, those who have been here longest have gone through this already and so know the end result - is that CFG are very quiet about business matters when they're not ready to make an announcement. It's how Arabian business often is, so I understand - the announcement itself can be very impressive but they often like staying dead silent when decisions still need to be made, and it's been a feature of how CFG interact (or not) with all of their clubs. The thing people here have had to get their heads around is that a lack of announcements doesn't mean a lack of action, even though it often feels like it.

The other issue is that building a stadium in NYC is virtually impossible at the best of times, and the simple and honest truth is that CFG may have bitten off more than they can chew by setting up a team without a permanent home in NYC. However, they aren't the kind to give up and they aren't ever going to consider a stadium outside of NYC, so we all just have to accept that that things are moving, but they aren't going to happen any time soon.

So, to put it briefly - keep raising concerns to the club. It's a good thing. Just...don't mention the stadium, because the club knows all too well about that already.

REALLY ??? You need to read in between the lines of my original comment !! It was square in favor of you ! I was warning you what this forum is all about Dude ! I'm the most hated person on this forum and knows what it's like to put something out and get a slap in the face and stabbed in the heart when you didn't ask for it !

When I say shark infested waters I mean watch your back !! Sympathy is by no means mandated here !! A good thick skin is your best Armour ! My name for the people here is The Jury ! They can try and convict you here . You Better Get Used to it !! This is New York!!! ......New York and all that comes with it !! It doesn't have to be pretty ! It owes you nothing !

Enough said I still wish you Good Luck ! It's on you weather you sink or swim !

Also...

As a fan, dying to hear stadium news, be prepared to receive random fan-polls, sometimes unmistakably new-SSS-focused, that will ask about certain amenities and features you would prefer to have at your (now seemingly soon to be announced) stadium. Be prepared to get all hot and bothered and come on this forum and discuss for pages and pages and have real hope that they are getting close (because why else send out such a fan-poll?) only to remember said poll about a year or so later.

Just accept that it will never happen, until the day it does.
