So i've decided to stop being the oldest 30 year old in the world and start listening to podcasts. What are the best NYCFC specific podcasts that I should really listen to prior to this match (and every match going forward)? Also, for this old (at heart) man, what's the best way to listen to them on an android?
Nice. Need to factor in Atlanta part deux.Here we go.
14, 17, 21, 28, 31, 3
Six games in 21 games.
0-5 points = fire Vieira /s
6-8 points = ugh, we need Herrera back
9-11 points = excellent management thru a tough stretch
12+ points = unstoppable
Let's start with 1 point in Dallas, who are yet to lose this year. Then @RSL and @ORL. Four points this week would be a coup.
The last two games on this stretch are easier; home against NE and PHI, hopefully with Herrera back. Just hold serve for a few games and we'll get through this.

And we've lost 8 straight on FS1. Were all of those with Lalas in the booth? I can't seem to recall.Let's see here...
Yangel Herrera with the Venezuelan U20s. Alexi Lalas in the commentary booth.
Yeah, we're fucked.
EDIT: Alexi Lalas may not be in the booth. It's a doubleheader on FS1 on Sunday. RB-LAG at 6, DAL-NYC at 8.
To whoever tracks the FS1 streak: to what extent does it correlate with games against teams who either almost always beat us (RB and Orlando) or were just clearly better than us at the time? Aren't those the games Fox usually selects for us?And we've lost 8 straight on FS1. Were all of those with Lalas in the booth? I can't seem to recall.
Good point. Just looked this up, most recent results showing up first:To whoever tracks the FS1 streak: to what extent does it correlate with games against teams who either almost always beat us (RB and Orlando) or were just clearly better than us at the time? I can be superstitious, but I think I can also think of reasons why we might lose to Dallas in Dallas without Herrera when we've never beaten Dallas and they haven't lost this year and they are on pace for 77 points. OK they won't get 77 points but still.
Thanks.Good point. Just looked this up, most recent results showing up first:
4/23/17 NYCFC 1 Orlando 2
11/6/16 NYCFC 0 Toronto 5
10/30/16 Toronto 2 NYCFC 0
8/28/16 Orlando 2 NYCFC 1
7/24/16 NJRB 4 NYCFC 1
7/10/16 SKC3 NYCFC 1
5/21/16 NYCFC 0 NJRB 7
5/15/16 Portland 1 NYCFC 2 - our last win on FS1
Bold indicates games played on FOX instead of FS1. I included the Portland game to demonstrate our last win on FS1.
So I was wrong on 8 games, thought I heard that on a podcast somewhere, but its at 7. And looking at that list, those are all tough games or teams that always give us a fit.
Up until those playoff games against Toronto, we kinda owned them for the majority of the series, 2wins and 2or3draws. I blame the slide on Fox/FS1Good point. Just looked this up, most recent results showing up first:

Road game, but we will have our longest rest of the stretch, a full week. The dream results would be:
@DAL - 0/1
@RSL - 3
@ORL - 0/1
@ATL - 1
vNER - 3
vDCU - 3
Total of 11 points. I'm sure we will drop points from two games we shouldn't and pick up points from one tough one, putting us closer to 8 than 12 though.
I'm wondering if we'll start to see some of the fight that we had last year on this upcoming road trip. We were really hard to play against, and Frank just had an insane knack for getting that one goal to set the tone for the game. Who will it be this year? We can rely on Villa only so much. We certainly have looked better on the road recently than at the start.
Remember our win at Portland last year? Hernandez played his ass off. Tremendous game.
