On the road to Houston, where last time in Texas we won 2-0 with a brace from David Villa.

Houston kicking off @ Chicago now on UNIMAS. Houston is pedestrian enough that we should be favored to win away.

Watching on Twitter. Houston just scored off a quick counter one a single through ball as Chicago was playing a super high line. Houston's attackers are quick.

Probably going to have to watch this game on mute to save my ears.

Houston is such a weird team to judge. They are capable of great stretches in games, and they are certainly dangerous, especially Elis. But they have pissed away a lot of points by letting teams back into games, and have already lost twice at home. I really hope we get back to our winning ways on the road

I'm going just to avoid listening to Unimas/Twitter English language commentators.

I'm thinking of trying the WNYE broadcast on my computer with my TV muted. Somewhat concerned that the TV will be out of sync with the radio but as long as the audio is ahead of the video I have software that can delay it so they match. Totally worth the futzing if I can get it to work.

what software you use?
Audio Hijack, from Rogue Amoeba:

It lets you route and process audio from any Mac app. So you could DVR audio, mangle it, capture it, delay it, or do all sorts of other audio processing. I use a lot of their apps, actually.

The problem with TV though is that the video is often way behind real time, can easily be as much as 30 seconds late. That can make it hard to match up an audio stream with a video stream because you can't easily delay the audio that much.

To be fair Crooks doesn’t pay that much attention to what’s happening on the field, so syncing it up might not be that important.

Agree. Former coach as play-by-play man is an odd choice.
You think so? I would have expected a former coach to be able to provide more in-game details, and while they might seem a more natural fit for color than play-by-play, what Crooks lacks mostly for p-b-p is discipline. Stay focused on the job Glenn.

And it’s even worse that he does it on radio, where the play-by-play man is the listener’s only source for information on what’s happening. He should be painting a picture in the listener’s head, not chattering like he’s on a podcast.
