Wow so I hit you with logic and you say I'm thinking 1 dimensionally. Honestly you're trolling so hard right now because that's one of the dumbest possible comments I have ever laid eyes upon. Please and I beg you please show me what about my comment is illogical and not practical. Pleaseeeeeeee.Dan you're thinking one dimensionally. BxLio you have just proven my point above.
So what gives you the right to pick who shouldn't be a United fan? Your posts contradict themselves. Your affiliation to MCFC blinds you to the reality that Lampard staying past December could harm his success at NYCFC. Him being back in time for March isn't enough. He needs to be here to 1. Rest 2. Train 3. Play preseason. Just jumping on the pitch isn't enough. Especially coming off a rigorous EPL/UCL schedule with no rest. Also especially because MCFC can easily afford to replace him and hopefully will. Even if he comes back in March they still have to replace him for the end of the season. So you might as well do it in January and not for the last month of Premier League play.Bi who gives you the right to pick who or who is not an NYCFC fan. Two words arrogant and clueless. You should be a United fan if you aren't already. Most of the man city fans on here have already said Lampard should be back in time for the first game. What more do you want. You clearly just like a few other just don't like Man City for whatever reason.
So what gives you the right to pick who shouldn't be a United fan? Your posts contradict themselves. Your affiliation to MCFC blinds you to the reality that Lampard staying past December could harm his success at NYCFC I have demnstrated in some links from both sides of the Atlantic that he had a six month loan starting August so February is due date.. Him being back in time for March isn't enough. He needs to be here to 1. Rest February 2. Train During January when NYCFC are in Manchester 3. Play preseason He doesnt need to play the "match fit" matches just the pre season tournament. Just jumping on the pitch isn't enough It will be when he dictates the game . Especially coming off a rigorous EPL/UCL schedule with no rest. Also especially because MCFC can easily afford to replace him and hopefully will. Even if he comes back in March they still have to replace him for the end of the season Why, Yaya will be back.. So you might as well do it in January and not for the last month of Premier League play. END OF JAN / BEGINNING OF FEB AS PLANNED.
Come on man. Please take off the blinders and see if from our side . When there's soooo many solutions but extending only benefits 1 team of course we don't agree with an extension.
And as an aside I am fucking disgusted that a NYCFC fan could cause such an innocuous post in a thread where we should all have been paying respect to the fallen of the Great War into a farce.
I admit I should not have answered in the thread and risen to him but http://nycfcforums.com/index.php?threads/100-years-for-the-christmas-truce.1784/#post-32632 this is typical of the type of arrogant and clueless replies we have to deal with
Or you could just not bring it up.... It was a post about the game and you replied with MCFC v NYCFC. What did you expect? Everyone else to overlook your post and keep it on topic? No, and it baited someone else into a reply.
M MrE this is an NYCFC forum if you expect me or the mods to protect your interest as the fan of any other club (be it MCFC or United) just fuck right off as you are. The majority of people here who are MCFC supporters first and foremost almost only reply to this topic and other MCFC/CFG topics and thus seemingly show no signs of the slightest amount of support for our team, NYCFC. There is no signs of wanting to discuss anything else and yet you claim to be fans. Well ill take your word for it when I see you in a thread that doesnt include you 'defending' MCFC. That's why NYCFC fans here are annoyed. Just look at your post history. It's almost entirely Frank Lampard thread, MCFC and CFG talk.
I can pull post history up for everyone else whose joined here from Bluemoon/mcfcforum and it's the same story. Just replying to MCFC/CFG stuff with no interest in this NYCFC forum but to defend your point of view.
You're on an NYCFC forum wanting to talk MCFC and expecting everyone to nod, bow and agree.
NO
My respects to you and yours. On reading it again, I can see how you construe my comment as MCFC V NYCFC, however it was not written in the vein you read it.
I lost a great grandfather in that war, two days before my gran (who had a large part of bringing me up) was born, which virtually condemned her (& thousands of others) to harsh conditions, particularly in her early life.
My intention was not to bring up a AvB scenario, it was to say we shouldn't be arguing on Xmas day and such a poignant day in football. If you or anyone else reads any different I can honestly say that was not my intention.
MCFC is more like the annoying Mother in law, persisting in offering opinions that the parents don't want to hear.Bold my additions
The trouble here Dan, which will get worse before it gets better as the baby has not yet been born so most of its brothers have no interest yet so have not visited, is that the NYCFC fans have a one sided view.
I am not advocating keeping Lampard, and I understand that this is a NYCFC fan forum but
All NYCFC fans are supporting a team that has not yet been born. They have no idea what the babys form will be only hopes, fears, and maybe the odd scan to look at. The doctor (The press) has told them there might be some problems with the birth and they want someone to blame.
A small percentage of NYCFC fans are new to football, some may be new to MLS, some may have affiliation elsewhere.
Man City fans have affiliation elsewhere, but are related to the team, so are going to show a bloody great interest in the baby when it is born.
Some NYCFC fans, many with affiliation elsewhere, persist in attacking MCFC because we might be the relation causing the potential problem with the birth.
Whatever happens after the birth we will still be related though, and the anti Man City perspective this forum is currently allowing (almost encouraging) is lining up for a family feud at some point in the future.
Man City fans have an interest in supporting New York City Football Club as well. We are entitled to the same opinion as everyone else here whatever there previous alliance. The difference is we have not changed our alliance and are growing it.
Supporting (or following) a team in a foreign land is new to us, but we are not Johnny come latelys or trying to justify our New Club, we are here to support New York because it is our sister club.
It is like a "reserve team" (and I mean that as an analogy not literally). When New York City get going and there reserve team plays a game, then I imagine you guys as fans will watch for results, maybe go to odd games, but support them over whoever they are playing.
Well thats how we see NYCFC.
We have that right just as a NYCFC fan has the right to come to England, and go to Arsenal instead of City. To watch for Arsenals results, and to support Arsenal over whoever they are playing.
What no fan of New York has is the right to call us (as siblings) or City Football group as parents.
From our perspective it appears that is what is being allowed right now on this forum, but it is us that are getting fucked over for defending our interest.
Take a look at the Posts again, and tell me who were the first on the attack ?

I'd forgotten that Soriano's original idea was to have an FC Barcelona franchise in MLS, in New York.
Paywall, but this article basically adds many details to a recent discussion, mostly between Christopher Jee and me:
“Best in class” was the phrase that kept coming back, as if they were describing a luxury SUV.
*******
“We wanted to create a best-in-class environment,” Marwood said. “But then we needed to know what best in class looked like.”

Best-in-class is interesting to me. It equates to "make the playoffs". We're out here making luxury SUVs while other organizations are looking into amphibious vehicles.

“I’m not saying that we’re Disney,” says Omar Berrada, Manchester City’s chief operating officer. “But if you think about it, it’s not that dissimilar. We have characters—which are players—that our fans relate to; we put on a show every three or four days. And we take that show around the world in the summer. In that sense, we are part of the entertainment industry.”
Did they? The context of mentioning NYCFC is largely about our role as a PR move for the UAE.They really glossed the reputation laundering thing.

^This is the only paragraph I saw in an article that I think focused more on the origin story and its "characters", if you will.Because above all, New York was a delicate exercise in international publicity for the small desert kingdom that is home to the club’s owner—shinier and more vibrant than anything the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority could cook up. Football, as always, was the delivery mechanism.
