If you're considering trading in your Cityzens points for a City Send Off post match meet and greet, DO IT!

After last night's loss, I thought it would be a few players at most. Nope! Almost every player came out and so did Patrick Vieira. Every single person waiting there got an autograph and picture with the players. The guys were really good about stopping for everyone.

I'd highly recommend it!

How long did you have to wait after the match? Been thinking about doing it.

Well, until there's a restraining order...... feel free to continue explaining the pulse of the fans to him - just have your iPhone recording it next time.
Okay, so maybe trolling Frank is our dharma. We just need a recorder on at all times. Surely there's a morality clause in his contract.

Come on guys! Here's our chance to really make a difference as supporters! #wegottadowork

Thinking about bidding for the next home game. Any recent experiences?

I'm curious to know how long after the game the event starts and finishes.

It was about 45 minutes after the game ended before the first people started trickling out, some team members didn't come out for over 90 minutes. Everyone did stop, they all signed whatever you had and took photo's.

Thanks. Just trying to figure out timing for getting home, etc.

That's a great picture. And it leads me to my second, more important question, which is what should I get signed and how.

I see people with jerseys, paper, soccer balls. My kid has an extra home jersey that he might want to use. How easy is it for the players to sign a jersey vs. something else? Would you just use a blue sharpie? Any issues with caring for it so the signatures stay good? Also, I have a great photo of my son with Pirlo in the background (see my avatar to the left). Would they sign that?

Pictures or one of those NYCFC plates/plaques are the best bet, something solid to hold for when they sign. When I did it, I brought my Villa kit and that was fine, but occasionally difficult due to it being a flimsy kit, have to try and stretch it out for them to get a good signature. Scarves are a definite no-go, signatures will barely show.

They also hand out black sharpies to the players when they come walking down, so you don't need to bring your own unless they are signing something like the black goalie kit in Vaporizer 's picture. I have a picture somewhere on these forums of the kit after I got it signed, I'll try to find it if you want a look at it.

Just go to a concession stand and get a couple of to-go trays and stick them under your jersey, make sure you have fresh Sharpies . I have not washed it yet, so i don't know if the Silver will last lol

So, here is another question that suddenly became relevant this week.

If a player is not in the 18, do they come out for the send off?

My kid is very excited about this, but he is now worried that he won't get to see Villa.

As long as they are there for the game they should attend the send off. I remember seeing Rawls and Gomez at the signing I went to after the game even though they definitely weren't in the 18.

However, I also remember Brillant not signing anything due to being with his wife & newborn (I think, very small child) baby and Mullins didn't show up even though he came in as a sub. So I'm not going to say 100% yes, he will be there, but I would presume that there is a very large chance he will show up, being that he will most likely be watching the game from one of the suites.

Went to the Send Off yesterday. Almost everyone came out except for Pirlo.

Hi. Finally have a few minutes to describe the City-Send Off that I went to with my 8-year-old after the last game (Colorado).

It's a good event. Wouldn't personally say it was great. Whether it's worth it for you will probably depend on how much value you place on autographs and pictures. It's fun seeing the players, but you don't really get to interact as they don't have enough time to spend with everyone. I also enjoyed hanging out with fellow fans. There is a lot of that, as it take a while for the club to set things up, and there are a lot of dead periods while you wait for players to come out and make their way to where you are. I can say that my kid loved it and got a lot of autographs, so that made it worth it to me.

The Colorado event was particularly crowded. The Club said this was their biggest yet. For some reason, they not only had all 50 season ticket holder spots filled, but others with send off rights chose to come this day. I'd say it was a crowd of around 150. Fortunately, we all got a spot on the barricades, and nobody got stuck standing behind anyone else.

Most of the players came out, but not all.
  • Villa came out and did the whole line even thought he didn't play.
  • Pirlo was a no show.
  • Hat Trick Rick did about half the line and left - and not our side, so we will have to find another way to add the final two DPs to my kid's shirt.
  • RJ Allen and both goalkeepers came out and seemed to really enjoy interacting.
  • Mendoza, Tony Taylor, Khiry, Iraola, Hernandez, Lopez all worked the whole line.
  • TMac came by, and I asked if Howard had gotten any ball when they collided in the box, and he gave a very diplomatic "I don't know."
  • Matarrita was there walking around the entire space with an untaped ankle and no limp - so I was surprised he didn't make the 18 the next game.
  • Jack Harrison was all smiles, as you might expect.
  • Both sides of the Maginot Line came through. Another one of the defenders worked only the other side and then left (not sure who).
  • Last, but not least, Coach V came by and gave everyone a lot of time. Clearly it is a priority for him. One fan near me complimented the big win and the season so far, and Vieira quickly said it's early and we haven't done anything yet.
Overall, I am thankful to the players. It was a very big crowd, so you know when they turned the corner and saw everyone it must have been a little hard. They'd just put in a full day's work, gotten a big win, and were tired. Still, with only a couple exceptions, they came around to everyone and gave us some extra time. It took many of them a good 20-30 minutes to get through the whole crowd, and I appreciate it.
