Columbus Postmatch

Viera needs to start making changes playing Taylor was a poor decision he did nothing and no one should really be surprised. Hernandez should not see the field any more u less someone is injured or on a suspension and he should be limited to CB .

Play RJ Allen at his correct position which is right back and play materita at left back and if mats is not healthy play Martinez.

I know there is nothing we can do this season but Saunders needs to go next year, he hurts this team every game .

Read what I wrote; answer my question. And don't put words in my mouth.
I read what you wrote and answered you as to why Saunders is to blame. Those crew player don't get the ball if Saunders doesnt go for it half assed.

You definitely didn't read what I wrote.

And I wasn't putting words in your mouth, you did. If you're not blaming Saunders, then you're defending him by asking how anybody could blame him. Don't get defensive with me because of your statement.

Probably didn't deserve 3 points with the way they played, but it was right there for the taking. I was about to be so excited that they pulled out the win. Talk about a letdown.

As for the positives...how about the Pirlo ball, and the Villa touch...

I think he means that one of the cardinal rules of goalkeeping is that if you come off of your line then you better get the ball.
Especially when you come off the line to prevent a player from scoring on what would have been an impossible volley at an impossible angle.

I guarantee that if Pep was the NYCFC manager, Saunders would never see the field again. He made a statement today with ManC that he isn't willing to suffer blunderous keeping, and instead played a guy that really isn't even EPL starting caliber. I wish Vieira would take the same stance - all of these lost points in the last minute of matches is beyond sickening.... When your team scores three goals, it should be a win every time.

3 straight Crew players played the ball inside our box the last 2 unmarked. How the fuck you blame Saunders for that I don't know.
I do. Watch it again. He's just out there sloshing around in no man's land, as is the norm for him.

Even then, if he weren't so set on flopping his body around and had one iota, one speck, one microscopic granule of sporting intelligence, he could have actually placed himself between the ball and the goal.

He's just a horror show in keeper kit. I'm no longer referring to him as a keeper. He's a shirt filler.

Eta: Sorry. Just saw all the drama. I blame him. He's the dude whose job 1 is to clean up the garbage. The set piece was initially defended well and he screwed up, that's why they were there unmarked - he left the net, we had 3 people trying to fill it while he was flapping like a moron. And I swear, if I see him flap at another shot that's either already in the net or 10 yards from close, I'm going to burst blood vessels in my toes. He went to ground for a shot that damn near hit the corner flag.

He makes me feel physically ill. Hell, you can't (shouldn't I should say, you certainly can - you the hypothetical) even be mad at this point. I fully expected us to give up a dumb one after scoring. The game had that feeling about it.

There were a lot of failures on that last goal. Saunders shouldn't have come as far out as he did, but why wasn't that player marked? And why wasn't Finley marked when the ball fell to him? It's not even clear Saunders could have stopped that shot if he were in position. The ball was only 8-10 yards from goal. This was shambolic defending from a team that regularly gives up in stoppage time.

RJ was terrible tonight. He was abused regularly down that side, especially in the first half, and aside from one nifty dribble, was only effective at creating turnovers on offense. He needs to stay on the right or not play.

I wonder if Vieira and Chanot were arguing the foul that led to the last free kick. Looked very soft.

See my theory in my edit. People went to fill the goal when our filler went out to slosh around again and came up empty handed. It was very clear to me if he had read the situation he would have at least done better than try to defend the side netting. That's all he was going to defend from where he was. I mean shit, run over someone and take the ball. Highly unlikely would get called.

In the end a draw is what we deserved. Even though we sucked on the last FK. It was a really soft foul and was surprised it was called.

I can't speak about RJ at right anymore. I guess Patrick sees something I don't.

Pirlo had a very good game and probably hustled more than the rest.

Despite the end, Villa was invisible. So was FF. Tony is not a starter and I don't think Jack learned anything by not starting...he actually look pretty bad overall. Just let the kid play. T-Mac need to press more. He had a quiet game. Iraloa was steady. Saunders can't be getting wild like that. If he comes off his line, he better make the save. That last goal was mostly on him.

Even though he didn't do anything, it was nice to see Matarrita playing again. Him playing left and RJ right, will really make a positive difference.

RJ has been poor at left back. He's better at right back. Blame Vieira's use of Hernandez at right back at the cause of our outside back woes. #MakeRJRightBackAgain
