The poor kid has had the worst luck with his sports hernia - and to think the surgery for the most part has become so streamlined and simple over the last decade (I had it done 8 years ago), and yet he's had it performed multiple times with seemingly no success. I hope this isn't an indication that he needs additional surgeries to fix the situation, and rather they're just shutting him down completely to focus on an extended rehab done at a gradual pace....

I really feel bad for him. Got a chance to meet him at one of the post game meet and greets last year and he seemed like a really nice kid.

So after the Wingert interview, the Mix poem, and now Conner's tweet, it's a bit less cloudy that NYCFC's front office isn't as player-friendly, or having player's interests at heart, as they want everybody to believe.

Hard to take Connor's side on this one. He seems like a nice guy that had some tough injury breaks but 2nd round picks rarely make MLS rosters, let alone get carried on payroll for two years while injured and then given another chance to make the team at the start of year 3. They could have cut him long ago and filled his bench spot with another MLS prospect on a min salary that wasn't hurt for 2 straight years.

I don't think an injured player can be cut. That also would be the absolute worst PR a team could have, especially for a guy whose salary has never impacted the Cap.

The Mix situation is much, much worse than Connor's. Connor probably feels like he didn't get a fair shake in preseason, and while that's certainly debateable, it's pretty clear he was never a player that was likely to even make the 18 on an MLS team with aspirations of winning the MLS Cup. He's roster filler.

it would of been shitty if they let him go while injured not paying for it etc.....he got the treatment and recovery covered. so there is definitely that....i dont think the team did him wrong because of that....he was technically released last year no? so he was fighting for a spot on team like other trialist/ draft picks this year...and he was not good enough in eyes of PV
