I’m jealous. I’ve finally dropped Verizon and can’t wait to drop kick Comcast. Unfortunately, the cost of internet without bundling TV is still too expensive.

Right now we watch on Prime and Netflix via Apple TV and then do the normal stuff on cable.

YouTube TV seems to cover the stuff we would miss on cable, with the exception of Nick Jr. so, I think the plan is Prime, Netflix, YouTube TV and maybe Hulu.

I bought a simple Roku stick to try.

How is Youtube TV working out for you Gotham?

I'm moving soon and cutting the cord, but am looking at the various streaming services as all I really want this for is sports. Youtube TV is enticing for me just to have YES.

Generally very happy. Quality is good. Interface is fine. DVR service is key (but see below). The ability to watch wherever I am is really nice.

Two problems.

1 - The DVR service isn't all it seems to be. Generally it works really well. Much more responsive than a virtual DVR from a cable company, and there is no limit to how much you can save. One big problem, however, is that if a show you record is also available on demand, then you have to watch the on demand version, which means there are commercials you can't fast forward through. It doesn't apply to very many programs; sports are generally fine, but late night shows (Colbert, SNL, etc) will be chock full of commercials.

2 - There are a few minor holes in the lineup. No Viacom networks (Nick, MTV, Comedy Central), no PBS, no local stations outside of the networks (i.e. no Yankees on PIX 11), no Univision for soccer or MSG for those games. On the other hand, I do get the SEC Network and the Tennis Channel, which Optimum wouldn't provide.

Thanks. I don't think the DVR will be a big issue for me, just based on how I consume programming, and I should be good without those other items.

I'm going to be supplementing with Amazon Prime, HBONow, and ESPN+, so I'm ok with losing a few channels.

I’ve been using sling because of the amazon compatibility. $25 p/m for blue package. $5 p/m for dvr. Same dvr issues. You can buy something called air tv (it’s a device, basically an anttena) for around $120 w/ 2 free months of sling included. It gets you all your local channels off a digital antenna and syncs w sling so you can watch those channels too on your sling from any device/tv. Basically adding them to your package at no cost after the initial hardware purchase.

I want my TiVo gear and my sports stations prev view/last chan available.

Just watching via ESPN+ annoys the piss out of me. So ridiculous trying to find content.

I’m hopping on WiFi. So, Sling ($30) Amazon ($10) and espn+ ($5) sames me a lot more then $20 p/m. Kodi gets me everything else. But I’m not going to promote that.

I don't think ESPN+ gets you ESPN. Might be worth double checking that.

You can. But the frame rate slows. It’s a choppy watch.
