Now *that* is some seriously rose-tinted optimism you've got going on there. Salute.
Also, if this is in fact a streak mostly due to poor luck, then the unfortunate truth is nobody can predict when it will change. For a well written discussion of the limits of using stats to explain streaks and predict future results I recommend this ASA article about Seattle's streaky and very odd season:

I am under the opinion that Dome is still a good coach, but he tried pushing into PV's methods too early. The team had a clear system in place and he pushed the limits to get the team to perform his way, which has confused them all. Give it an off-season, see what he does during that break, and we'll see what happens the first few games of 2019- but I think, quite frankly, that by that time our players will understand his system better.
Is it fair to say the team has been unlucky the last few games? If your answer is yes, then conventional wisdom says that luck should change.
I think we're discounting how good a team we have here this season. There is a chance it all comes crumbling down and they lose in the knockout round. That is very, very possible. But I'm not ready to throw the season away because of some unlucky results and a slump. Five regular-season games to get healthy and get ready for the playoffs. Let's see what happens.

I don't think the formation is the issue. I just would rather have Villa play the False 9. I think he's the perfect striker for the position. Ideally, Berget or Villa starts in Maxi's position, but I can see the logic of not starting Lewis so we have an actual sub. I love Maxi, but he's not someone that should be targeted for service in the box when we generate a lot of crosses.
I thought Amagat had his best game so far. There were a couple times at the beginning of the game that he looked out of position, but settled down.
I think some of you need to step back off the cliff, and appreciate that next game we will likely be able to start Isi, Berget, and Medina. Changes our team tremendously.

Agreed. It is hardly the best stretch for the club, but they just played two games in four days without Berget, Medina, Chanot, Ofori, Tajouri-Shradi, Wallace (perhaps of benefit). And Ring for a game.
There is no guarantee of a turnaround, but writing off the season is premature. There will be two extended breaks with opportunity to get healthy and cohesive. The club has had second place regular seasons. Third place with playoff success would be a welcome change.
If NYCFC wins a knockout game and then beats RBNJ in a playoff series, no one will give a crap about how they are playing now.
So, how much would we get for Lewis on the MLS trading block? He’s a Generation Adidas player so that’s worth something. I think $500K in GAM.

Agree, said a similar thing in the Dome thread. We played Villa and Maxi behind Berget in a 3-4-2-1 at some point this season and he had a lot of the ball. Maxi would make a better 8 in this system. He's not really the type to carry the ball and try to get a shot on target, and without that threat we become a lot more predictable in the final third. I don't really see anybody apart from Berget really leading the line the same way that Taty and Villa do.
