I could pull a bunch of quotes from this thread to illustrate my point, but since the one you replied to included "lack of stadium news" and "poor communication with fans" I'm just going to assume you're being disingenuous.

I'm getting confused. I only got involved in this thread in the first place to respond to people who were moaning about how long it was taking to get Torrent in place (see above). Got sidetracked into another argument about fans' expectations/CFG negativity. Not trying to be disingenuous to anyone!

No worries I'm just mad about Sweden choking.

So Glenn Crooks is airing a radio interview 8 minutes before kickoff. Who the hell is listening?

It's going to be repeated at the stadium at half-time, (and I'm sure it'll be on YouTube afterwards). For once, it can't be argued that they haven't thought ahead about this...

We grabbed Pep's right hand man and two fitness coaches from Barca. How are people not completely over the moon about this. I don't care if they tweeted out a giant middle finger, this is one of the most legit coach staff buildouts in MLS history. Remember when people were excited to have hired Kreis because he had some previous MLS success? Or Ernie Stewart going to Philly being a big deal because he had Europe experience?

This is absolute home run the more I think about it. And if anything, the FO deserves a lot of credit for pulling it off on a nearly perfect schedule.

If people want to be pissed at the club for non-sporting reason so be it, but I am very happy right now as well. Really looking forward to see what we do tactically tomorrow and the rest of the year.

Another positive is that I think Dome will last longer than Vieira. It was 100% clear Vieira, a young coach, was looking for a stepping stone. It's entirely possible Dome will take that route too, but there's also a much higher chance he loves NY and rides out the last 10-15 years of his career here winning trophies.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. I'd love for that to be true, I really would, but in a sport where a manager who stays at a club into the fourth season is typically seen as a veteran, I feel like saying that someone will stay more than a decade is "entirely possible" is a little bit of a crazy assertion. Now that Wenger has left Arsenal, I don't think I can even name a single manager right now across the entire worldwide sport who has been at their current club that long. Maybe let's keep our ambitions more moderate at the start and say "three or four seasons", and then see what the future brings?

Huh?

As I've said elsewhere, the silence was a bit weird. But I'm not as bothered by the club's media strategy as some people are.

This is so clearly an underreaction. There are people here so set on expounding on their chosen narrative that everything is okay, all they do is pat the club on the back.

I get that we have made some good signings. But the vast majority of interactions with supporters are characterized by either lies or the absence thereof entirely.

I can’t help but think some posters just have an agenda.

(This is how you do this, right?)

To be clear, I'm comparing the likelihood of Torrent staying a decade to the likelihood that Vieira would have stayed a decade. I realize now that my post was ambiguous and may have sounded like I thought it was more likely for Torrent to stay a decade than for him to stay 2.5 years.

Slightly concerned by him apparently not being all-in on us winning the cup this year. But he seems like a pleasant guy. Honestly? I'm excited.
