Formation Speculation

Hey magnus, I have tried to find a timetable for John's return. My impression was May also, but have you seen any confirmation on that?

Also, I wonder if Shelton comes along and calle comes (at this point we really have no wide players) if we would do a 4141 to take advantage of the glut of CAMs we have
I haven't heard anything. Has anyone seen John in any of the preseason camp photos? Last I read from the Dallas guys was a possible May return.

I'd like the see them try out a few different formations during the preseason

Wingert was a leftback starter for Kreis for 6 years. Although Brovsky and he will trade off (and maybe Calle too), there is nothing that makes me think Wingert won't be a starter next moth. Maybe that changes by July.

But where? I think we all agree that CB is a concern (Mendoza is an unknown, John is hurt, Watson-Siriboe is a career back-up). Are you all comfortable with Wingert starting as a CB until we know what we have?

Before Watson-Siriboe was hurt he was the first guy off the bench in defense for RSL last year. I think Kreis is higher on him than we think. I see Hernandez and Mendoza with W-S as backup or vice versa until John comes back fit (that's a question).

And yes I'm seeing Wingert starting with competition from Brov and Calle.

Who says we're going with a 4-4-2? ;-)
No one has, well except 8 years in Salt Lake for Kreis. But what I'm saying is in a 4-4-2 with 2 strikers, there is Villa and Nemec, no room for Mullins.

However in a 4-3-3, it's possible that Mullins plays on the wing with Villa on the other one and Nemec up top.

Here's a special formation I think we can all speculate about given we just took down the Scottish giants.

When Mix joins, does he knock out Seba or Bellouchy? I thought Seba looked great today. When Lampard joins, he knocks out one of Grabavoy and Seba, but I will say Grabavoy looked to be the perfect link player, unless he's a CDM moving forward?

I would take out Bellouchy, he really hasn't been that impressive the past few years. Agreed that Lampard will then knock out one of Grabavoy/Velasquez but both looked really good today. Its a good problem to have, assuming both can keep up a high level of play.
