I obviously didn't see or read every bit of marketing from the club but I can't recall one thing from them specifying the number of games he would be available for. In fact I'd say they were pretty careful to avoid committing to a number, or giving the impression that he would be there for the full 10 games. The confusion on 10 games may have been that is the maximum allowed for a guest loan.

I don't think the communication on Villa was great either (nothing like Lampard though). I think they left the door open for Villa to return for a couple of games in December, but a postponed match put a stop to that. So Melbourne City supporters have been left hanging a bit. But I think a bit harsh to accuse them of lying in this case.

Sounds like it wasn't his choice but he will deal with it. Disappointing that we didn't get anything in return for the deal, which any other club extending a loan would have gotten. basically being a good employee

After reading this, I wish he'd never commented at all.

"We always knew he'd be coming here in July"? Then your club lied to us, you lied to us directly when he was signed, and I can't trust a word you say from here forward.

Don't be down on Kreis about his comments. Sounds like he and Claudio were at the table arguing for Frank to be at NYCFC as planned and lost the argument. If Lampard was hurt in December and couldn't play until July should Kreis be whining about getting a replacement from MCFC. No. He is talking about building a successful team with the players he has when he has them -- thats his job and thats what he should be doing publicly and privately. Frank's interview was way better than his PR firm's statement. I am still pissed off Lampard isn't going to start the season with us, but don't fault Kreis for not being a team player within the organization -- thats what a smart Coach does and Kreis is a smart coach.

Really interesting interview. I'm just gonna quote some of the greatest hits here.

Probably the least cagey PR coverup-ish thing that has been said about the whole situation from anyone inside. I actually feel a bit better about Lampard now. And surprise, surprise Pellegrini comes out of it still looking like the asshole in all this.

I'm not coming around 100% yet, but I appreciate the fact that this actually makes some sense from Frank's perspective, as opposed to the garbage we've gotten in terms of statements from management.
