Frank Lampard Thread

ESPNFC:
18.40 GMT: Manuel Pellegrini refused to comment on Frank Lampard's future beyond the end of the season when asked following Man City's 1-1 draw at Everton. Make of that what you will...

There's hope!

Also, its as I feared, he has totally bought into the CFG family thing, while Pellegrini very obviously only worries about his team.

Pellegrini has very little reason to buy into the idea of CFG. CFG has plans for its teams to help each other out, but most of the benefit (entirely leaving Lampard out of this discussion, I'm not going to debate who is supposed to be gaining from this) is going to be long-term. Pellegrini, on the other hand, is in his 60s, most people in the media believe he's going to retire when he leaves Manchester, and he knows that he's not going to receive a contract extension when his contract expires in 2016. He's not going to be with CFG long enough to see any benefit, so ultimately he sees no interest in its existence.

A word to the wise, Pellegrini doesn't have the final say on who comes to MCFC. He can ask for someone but it's then down to Begiristain and Soriano to decide on whether or not said player will be coming.

IE, Pellegrini did not orchestrate Lampard staying on. He will have asked If it were possible, nothing more.

I have a feeling he did more than ask, he probably begged and demanded for quite some time.

Doesn't change the fact it was pathetic and made everyone look foolish. Even if ManC win it, this will be remembered as the year that they had to dupe NY and steal Lampard to do it. Congrats.

I sincerely doubt it. If anything, it will be remembered as the start of a dynasty as they go on to win their 3rd title in 4 seasons.

From what I've seen of Lampard, he should fit in well in the MLS as his positioning and football sense are superb, especially for a player his age. I absolutely cannot wait to see him, Villa, and hopefully Mix in action.

I ordered this from Ikea, it's called the Lämpard. Unfortunately, it's arriving in July.

Agreed.
