Game Of Thrones (spoilers)

What JB said, and he is going to do it with Sam. And Jorah, aka Azor Ahai*, is gonna end up saving the day from something he learned along the way to the Citadel.

*=My bold prediction for the season since everyone thinks it's Jon, Jamie, or Beric
The other hot take is the Hound is Azor Ahai. My view? I'm just gonna watch it play out.

So now that Bran is south of the wall, it is not a matter of IF the wall will fall, but when, right?
I've assumed it was "when?" since reading the first book, but , yes, with Bran marked by the White King that could break the magic keeping the Walkers north of the Wall.

Anyone have any opinion on the rumors that GRRM has finished the books and is waiting to release them until the show ends?

Makes sense to me, he could have changed things so much that the show would deviate too much and possibly diminish the show in some eyes. This way, the show ends, TV watchers are happy, then book readers get to see how it really ends. Wishful thinking highly possible on my part, I love the books. Finished reading them for the second time and have a hard time waiting.

I have a friend that works for Random House and I can tell you that this is not the case. GRRM is having too much fun being GRRM.

Fact is, no one knows, but it's sure as heck fun to speculate. The Hound definitely makes sense. Realistically can go through a long list of characters that you could justify as Azor Ahai:

Beric seems to obvious to me given the whole flaming sword in the promo.
Jon seems wayyyy too obvious, even though it would make perfect sense.
Bran would make sense, but he can't really do much unless he kills the Night King in one of his visions.
Jorah is more of a wildcard pick, but also makes some sense given his journey.
The Hound makes great sense, especially when you consider he is literally the opposite of his brother.

Jamie theoretically could make sense, but he is more likely Volunghar (SP)

If I had to put money on it, I am taking the field.

Well the ending is supposed to be the same considering GRRM gave HBO the ending. The difference would be how they get there.

It is. I like the speculation. I just meant that I don't read or watch that closely enough to actively engage. I'm quite pleased I was able to guess at most of R+L=J long before I ever heard of it because that's the sort of connection I usually need to have pointed out.

That still hasnt technically been confirmed yet, weve just been given more information that tends to seem thats the case

True, but I'm even pleased I managed to suss out a well-established red herring, if that's the case. I'll put in the work to try to solve a mystery story, but I don't have the patience for that sort of detail when absorbing a sprawling epic multi-volume fantasy story. I just absorb and enjoy. When I read theories based on an obscure detail of a subplot in Book 2 combined with another from someone's family history 3 volumes later, I'm usually wondering how the hell did you even remember the first part when you read the second.

Im the same way but theres some crazy fans that actually put in the research and know every little detail about everything. And im not gonna lie i do take the time to read some of those fans theories and im like fuck, i would have never known or remembered that.

ive seen people who think its Ser Davos as well.

Very pumped for the episode tomorrow. I think shit is gonna start to go down with Littlefinger, given the episode descriptions HBO released.

"Deanerys (Emilia Clarke) receives an unexpected visitor. Jon (Kit Harington) faces a revolt. Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) plans the conquest of Westeros."

Ugh. Euron.

Was foolishly hoping that he would kill the sand snakes this episode, but he himself would be killed as well. I just don't like the Euron storyline.

Nymeria is definitely gonna save Arya from trouble at some point this season IMO

Was that a new episode writer last night? Was that a writer from the first few seasons, when the show made sense coming back and reclaiming some bit of logic and direction?

Varys and Daenerys fix about three seasons worth of inconsistency in 3 minutes. Bickering parody of the sand snakes killed off quickly. Even Arya showd more character development last night than she has in years.

Bravo. Hopefully a sign of more to come.

In the books Euron has a dragon horn. Just saying...
Sure, but in the book, didn't he sail to try and wed Daenerys? The show and book have diverged a bit.

Last week when Euron said he was going to bring back a prize, some pointed out that he had the horn in the books. But it looks like he is bringing back hostages instead.

Doesn't mean he still can't have the horn. But I feel like it would have been teased in some form or another by now if he did. Otherwise, it becomes a weak Deus ex machina to pull it out of nowhere and control a dragon in the midst of battle.

PS, not sure how many of you have read the princess and the queen, that details the dance of dragons. But qyborn didnt invent the large crossbow to defeat dragons. And dragons are hardly invincible in GRRM's world.

What gets me is why wait for John to come to dragonsstone? Between his ride to white harbor and then sailing south to dragonstone. It could take a couple weeks. Danarys could fly to Winterfell in an afternoon. She has the westerosi hyper loop at her disposal. She needs to take more advantage of it. That's how Aegon was able to conquer the seven kingdoms.
