Game Of Thrones (spoilers)

It was pretty cool how Arya found that magical white horse at the end of S8E5 and then rode it a few blocks to not-out-of-town and let it go.
Brilliant scene. Horse merch sales jumped 18% after that.

Also liked how Dorne was always the renegade kingdom and fought tooth & nail against the Targs to not be assimilated, and yet after seeing Sansa proclaim the North was to be an independent kingdom, the new Prince of Dorne sat back and essentially said, “this is fine” to being one of the six. Same with the Iron Islands whom never wanted to bend the knee and only did so because of the sword and captives. A lot of history and politics ignored to close the loop.

What’s really crazy is that the Targ bloodline dies if Jon really holds to his second set of vows and isn’t heading North of the wall becoming free folk. Unless of course Tyrion is the Mad King’s Bastard son at which point the Lannister bloodline is halted (with his mother not being a blood Lannister having married in).

I’m still miffed that Arya, who isn’t a big suitcase packer, brought to Winterfell a whole assortment of skinned faces, enough to freak Sansa out (granted, only one would be needed to freak anybody out), and they weren’t used for anything but Walder Frey. From the time she killed the NK on, she was less Faceless Man and more just feared hand-2-hand combat badass.

Wonder if GRRM has more in mind for her character than the show runners allowed?

Also wonder what the alternate endings looked like - had read that the showrunners filmed multiple endings to add subterfuge to possible leaks.

I’m still feeling annoyed. I’ll watch it again tonight and see if I feel any better.

Now don't get me wrong, I really don't like Sweat, but making him nameless and Rocha Ser Davos hand to Stannis and Jon Snow seems wrong. Can he be like a Frey or the the Tully who appeared in the final epsiode

Fine, Sweat can be Robin Arryn, and it's up to you to decide whether he's the weird breastfeeding kid or the handsome prince.

A bunch of broken storylines already mentioned here, and one I completely forgot about, the Dornish Princess held prisoner in the Red Keep. Alive / dead ??

I thought about that while watching the 5th episode. Then it got weirder when there was a Dornish Prince we never met at the gathering. And why didn’t mr. “unbent, unbowed, unbroken” declare independence along with the North?? Btw, still annoyed. Glad GRRM called is “an ending”, but not his ending. Now just finish the damn books!

Re: Dornish Prince- wasn't he the one from a few seasons earlier, who was supposed to be wed to Cersei's daughter? I thought it was him, but I could be mistaken.

This is a very good and serious analysis of how the elected monarchy might play out compared to real world examples.

Really interesting. They didn't expand on this theory as much as the rest, but having John/Aegon's Targ/Stark heir come South with a wilding army to claim the North and then further South with the Northern army and the Wildling army to take the Six Kingdoms is 100% in line with the history of Westeros as it's been written.
