Home - 05/03 Seattle

Based on the pictures from today's practice session:
Villa is back, Facey is back, and Williams is back

NO sign of Nemec, Calle or Hernandez

I that means KWS at CB, and Brovsky at LB. Williams and Facey competing for LB, Williams likely the leader.

MLS: David Villa one of a handful of New York City FC's walking wounded nearing return to action (4/30)

David Villa looked sharp in limited involvement in an intrasquad scrimmage at training Thursday, but New York City FC’s star striker is still questionable for Sunday’s clash with the Seattle Sounders FC at Yankee Stadium.

[...] While Kreis said it’s still too early to determine if Villa, who has missed the last two matches to injury, will return for Sunday, he was encouraged that forward Adam Nemec and Javier Calle, who has played well as a left back, will be back sooner than initially thought from hamstring injuries suffered in a 1-0 loss at Chicago last Friday.

[...] Central defender Jason Hernandez, who also did side work, could return to full training as early as Friday and fullback Josh Williams, who is probable with an adductor strain, trained fully with the club on Thursday.

Good to see Villa moving well like that in training. Happy to see some of our guys getting healthy again, especially our defenders. Anyone know what the extent of Calle's injury is?

But then who takes Jacobsons spot in the squad. The midfield would be Mix, Grabavoy, Ballouchy and someone else
I'll be surprised if Kreis doesn't start Velasquez in that spot. Pleasantly surprised mind you, because I'd like to see Poku in there instead, but surprised nonetheless.

Would be pretty surprised not to see Williams back in the lineup Sunday. Still two and a half days to get healthy.

Kreis comments made it sounds like nemec and Calle might be back this week.

Is it just me or does anyone else want Kreis to sit all the players coming back from injury? I don't want to see players rushed back in just to get reinjured. Especially as our side has been so injury prone so far. I just want to go one game where no one needs subbing due to injury.

The lineup just looks SO shitty if we sit all the injured guys.

Do we want to actually win a game or do we want to "be healthy"?
I want to win a game as much as anyone, as evidenced by my voice being shot the morning after every game. But I don't see this as our most winable game (and I tend to be an optimist) no matter who plays. I would just hate to see one of these guys come back and go right back down.

The players have had 8 consecutive days off. Nobody is being rushed back.

That feels more like what he's done so far, so I wouldn't be worried.

Unrelated to the game itself, but can we make sure that Fox Sports actually shows this game on FS1 and doesn't move it to the channel in oblivion knows as FS2.

Is this the final list? The DNP is from a week ago. I need these player injury updates NFL style - multiple times a day.
