That's what I meant with my Valderrama analogy. Why not play him as a #10 like NJRB did with Henry in his final season? If Maxi is out, have Pirlo stand in the center circle and ping balls around the field.
For sure. And then PV will most likely bench him anyway. If the club and Pirlo can agree to a midseason split -- which I still doubt -- then they will promote the living #$%^ out of that last game.
We should have a Doghouse Testimonial.... all of the players that have been frozen out get to come back and play one last game. I can see it now:For sure. And then PV will most likely bench him anyway.
I had too much free time to spend on the forums if that makes sense. I'd end up watching Netflix, going or, begrudgingly assembling IKEA furniture.I'd have figured it'd be the other way around.... more time on Forums when unemployed and less when you are at the office???
I actively don't adhere to that line of thought for myself....
This post prompted me to start a "most maligned 11" in NYCFC history, evaluating each player based on a combination of how much he sucked and how much he played (e.g., my CB pairing was Jason Hernandez because he wasn't very good and played a ton (only Villa has logged more outfield minutes for us) and Kwame Watson-Siriboe because he did not play that much, but absolutely sucked). We should have a Doghouse Testimonial.... all of the players that have been frozen out get to come back and play one last game. I can see it now:
Mena intercepts the ball and passes to Pirlo... Pirlo then does his shimmy move and sends a through ball behind the defense to a racing Mix... Mix collects the ball and rounds the keeper to send a centering pass across the box to....... a streaking Nemec who one-times it into the back of the net.....

However, I quickly realized it was basically our 2015 starting lineup ex Villa. So, not as fun as I thought it would be.
That 2015 team was so bad on so many levels....This post prompted me to start a "most maligned 11" in NYCFC history, evaluating each player based on a combination of how much he sucked and how much he played (e.g., my CB pairing was Jason Hernandez because he wasn't very good and played a ton (only Villa has logged more outfield minutes for us) and Kwame Watson-Siriboe because he did not play that much, but absolutely sucked).

Which didn't stop Kreis from featuring him for a half in the 2015 finale as a final FU to the team and its fans.and Kwame Watson-Siriboe because he did not play that much, but absolutely sucked).
I am proud that I will forever be able to claim having seen KWS's lone NYCFC goal live! What a moment.Which didn't stop Kreis from featuring him for a half in the 2015 finale as a final FU to the team and its fans.
I'd leave off Grabavoy, wingert, Lopez, KWS, and Saunders because with the exception of KWS, the others all got a lot of playing time and never found themselves black-listed/banished; KWS never really got the playing time to begin with, so after his 1-2 chances, he just went back to the norm of being out the outside of the 18. Everybody else on your list (jury is still out on Pirlo) played regularly and were then permanently banished.GREAT topic. Let me play. I am lining our guys up in a 4-2-3-1 formation:
GK: Josh Saunders
CB: Kwame Watson-Siriboe
CB: Chris Wingert
LB: Jeb Brovsky
RB: Josh Williams
CM: Andrea Pirlo
CM: Mikey Lopez
RM: Mix Diskerud
CAM: Ned Grabavoy
LM: Pablo Alvarez
F: Adam Nemec

I just tried unsuccessfully to find a Facebook message I had sent to a Red Bulls fan friend telling him how excited I was to watch a young star in the making like Andres Beauty Mendoza succeed in New York.I am proud that I will forever be able to claim having seen KWS's lone NYCFC goal live! What a moment.
That was also the game where Calle fell down in the box and played an Orlando player (Larin?) onside.
shouldn't you be telling us?Any update on our roster for tomorrow? Who is training and who is not even at training?
Maxi running in the training video, but his calf was heavily taped. Brandi Chastain also still looking pretty good.Any update on our roster for tomorrow? Who is training and who is not even at training?
