If it goes to penalties on Sunday, I hope we don't hold guys back for the "pressure" kicks 4 & 5..... all of them are pressure kicks and it's better to put yourself into a position to have to make 4/5 rather than being out before then. So, figuring we're going to have our most offensive players out there at the end:

1. Villa
2. Lampard
3. Pirlo
4. Harrison
5. Mendoza
6. Tmac (assuming he's on the field which hasn't been a given)
7. Iraola
8. Chanot (speculation that if his passes are crisp, so will his shooting)
9. Mata (displays the least "maturity" at times on the field with giving up on plays - don't want the pressure on him)
10. Brillant
11. Lurch (he's probably a LOT better than 11 but I'd want him focused on stopping shots until this point)

If Khiry is on the field at the end, he'd be farther back on the list - I just don't think he's really accurate with his shooting (or passing)

But in Lampard I trust, and Harrison is looking a little Green so he should be fine.

I would actually like to see Lampard hit it with so much power that it knocks the keeper into the net, maybe even breaks his hand in the process so he can't continue.

Seems a bit low for Iraola, I realize the younger guys you have above him are offensive players but I'd go with his experience with advancement on the line and slot him in at #4.

Decent lineup, but I don't think Harrison should be nearly as high. A kid taking a high pressure PK shouldn't be the fourth one to go, maybe before/after Chanot. I'd also slot Iraola in before Mendoza. Not sure Mendoza and Harrison would be good early on, let the experienced guys take them first.
 
I don't want Mendoza anywhere near a PK. I trust him as much as I trust Wondo with a sitter.

I think about penalities in terms of 3 categories:1) Who needs to be there 2) Who should be dependable and 3) No way Jose - those guys that you just know have a high capacity for not handling pressure/mucking it up.

Who needs to be there: Villa, Pirlo, Lampard. Full stop. These guys have won major int'l tournaments.

Who should be dependable: Iraola, Chanot, Tommy Mac, Harrison

No way Jose: Matarrita, Mendoza, Shelton, RJ Allen (sorry), Mena, Lopez, Hernandez, Taylor

I'm not sure about Brilliant. Keep flipping him back between dependable and no way Jose. Also, don't you have to choose a defender to do at least 1 PK? I always seem to remember at least one of the shooters always seems to be a CB/defender.

Where to put Iraola was tough for me.... I feel like while his technical ability is really good, he sometimes plays lazy and/or soft passes, and while this is a shot vs a pass, I just had more than a hint of hesitation. But if he was eager to take the shot - and that's many times the biggest denominator - then I'd let him move up.

I wouldn't be worried about Harrison. While I have no data to back this up, the kid has been the best player on every team he's ever been a part of prior to NYCFC & with that distinction it is more than highly likely he was also the designated PK taker, so that would mean he has likely been taking pressure shots (it's relative to the level of play for each league, but a PK is pressure no matter what) for a very long time.

I also am not worried about Mendoza. It's a PK, not a moving 1v1 break-away where the variables are changing every millisecond. The guy is a striker and should have no difficulty slotting a ball past a GK on his line, unless of course the GK guesses correctly - even the the best PK takers sometimes get stoned in that situation.

In terms of order, I'd go maybe:

1. Villa
2. Harrison
3. Chanot/Iraola/TMac
4. Lampard
5. Pirlo

I'd put Villa first because we don't want a Ronaldo situation of never getting to him. Harrison second because it's probably the least amount of pressure. And finish with Lamps and Pirlo.

If anyone cares, seems like Football Factory will be the meetup spot for TFC's SGs. Who knows, maybe they'll all get stuck in marathon traffic and miss the whole thing. Expecting 100+
