that's the thing. if it was simply an away game, supporters would show up. just there mere fact that it's designated as a "home" game with no fault of the FO shouldn't be enough to turn away supporters. anyway.. it's not set in stone yet. i was just speculating. concacaf doesn't seem to be very cooperative in approving any of our other NYC options
Add to it that whatever $1mm in improvements Simms alluded to that was rejected for the NYC location may have been rationalized by using it for 2-3 CCL matches. Now it’s 1-2 CCL matches, maybe the club doesn’t want to shell it out anymore for what could be a one off match, even if Concafuckoff gives the OK.
tigres fans will travel, but it wont be chivas / america level packed house. dont know if them playing like shit recently will affect that too. if this was houston then thats another story.
some see it as a slap in the face so they wont go still even if FO had tried it all.
for others, like me, is still just inconvenient going to a 8PM game in NJ and get home at like midnight ( and PATH sucks late at night running i think every 30 mins) and then get back up early next day for work.
I honestly wonder if the “boycott” was driven in part by the early kickoff time. It’s a lot easier to boycott a game you weren’t going to be able to attend in the first place.
Right, 6pm in New Jersey on a weeknight? Even if I was gonna be in town, I would have had to "boycott" this game anyway, or take a day off work!

Would bet 98% of their team has never played a match in cold rain. Not the same as Mexico taking the field vs the USMNT in sub-freezing temps/snow, but that chill-to-the-bone wet stinging feel is awful when not prepared for it.
