Home game vs Houston being moved to Hartford, CT

Reyna has zero to do with this end of the organization.

Not the impression I got from the article but you could be right. Sporting director probably shouldn't have much sway over this.

Just as well- replace Reyna with FO. The general sentiment is all the same when you consider the parade of mistakes the club has made on multiple fronts.

Reyna is likely at fault for a lot of things, yes (tho maybe not directly for this one... but his statements trying to spin it didn't make me any happier). But the problem with this club is that we don't know who the hell is running the show. CFG ownership. Yankees ownership. Reyna seems like a puppet. Vieira wants to sign guys before the window closes but no one gets signed. Someone signs Lampard but not our club. Kreis was the coach but potentially wasn't cool with many players brought in. who's calling the shots? Ferran Soriano? I don't know who's making decisions or what their motivations are. So the buck seems to stop with..... no one.... and the fans keep getting screwed and lied to....

Some thoughts. Midas Mulligan i too had tickets for LD's last game at Hartford. It was a fucking nightmare getting there, parking and getting into the stadium. I left Stamford at 4:15 on a Friday. I arrived at the stadium at 7, which was already a shut show. I parked at 7:30 and because of the size and location of the grass lots, I didn't get in until 8:00 pm. It's a brutal place to get to and to get out of. My wife says never again.

It is a cool place to see a match. Very good sight lines but that's the case in so many other stadiums. MetLife. Rba. Rutgers football stadium. That's not unique about Rentschler Field. Don't know what the excitement is about the food. It's a glorified high school catering spread. Think Fordham US Open Cup match.

I like seeing games at Rentschler but it's incredibly inconvenient. From Manhattan, you're probably looking at giving yourself 2:30 to get there in time to park and just get in the building. Forget about tailgating or getting drinks. If you leave after 12:30, you'll miss kickoff. And that's with no traffic. Depending on how you go (Merritt Parkway or 95) you could get stuck in Cape Cod or Connecticut shore traffic.

Someone call the FO and tell them to set up a pop up stadium in Central Park like the Queen did on her lawn.

This is the opposite of SanBartG - very nicely summarized.

Anyone want to form a protest outside the MLB Commissioner's Offices at 245 Park Avenue?

We would be protesting the 162 ridiculous game schedule that players have to play!
154 forever!!!!

A lot of people are mad at the club but do we know how much they actually have to do with this? Is a match move up to the club or would that be a league thing? I'm sure they have zero say in the Yankees decision to play that day, so now I'm wondering what the procedures are for this. It would have to have been decided years ago before we ever started playing, along with who does what to find an alternate time/place for the match. Wouldn't that have to be spelled out in their contract with the Yankees and/or the league?

I'm not mad we have to move this game. It's where we have to move to.

My assumption is that they spoke with MLS/Houston to see if they could work out a rescheduled date, but were unable to do so. Then they most likely went to their alternate venue plan, which i'm sure was worked out before. Rentshclher may not have been the first choice for all we know (Citi?, MetLife?) but i'm guessing they had at least a loose agreement with the Rent in place for this.

Reyna has zero to do with this end of the organization.

"We have worked very closely with Houston and MLS to find an alternative venue prioritizing our supporters and sporting department," NYCFC president Jon Patricof said in a statement.

Find it hard to believe Reyna had nothing to do with the venue choice.

Get over it snowflakes.

It's one game (against a pretty anonymous opponent in Houston anyway) that is being moved. Yankee Stadium probably would have been half empty anyway from our usual crowds.

I'm surprised this hasn't happened more often considering we share with a team that had a busy summer schedule like the Yankees.

No wonder the rest of the league can't stand us -- one game being moved and our fans are insufferable crybabies.

Dan can we please get a dislike button?
