Yeah, hyperbole, sure. Maybe it's just that you dismiss remarks you don't agree with. Fair enough, but not answering would be just easier.

Here's TL:DR on your post. I'll help you with the word that you misused, because after all, you're speaking in hyperbole right. I'll speak Verbatim. That means word for word just in case. And we might as well define the rest of them for you, no?

Plat·i·tude - a remark or statement, especially one with a moral content, that has been used too often to be interesting or thoughtful.

hy·per·bo·le - exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally

Now if you'd like to speak in hyperbole, please make it interesting so we at least know you are. You'll fool the rest of us that speak literally, and since I don't have a Midas Mulligan translator here (I must have left it next to my Esperanto Daily Digest) And I don't know of any moral compass that takes the Super Bowl into account, so no platitude for you.

I'll just have to read what you write. I know, crazy huh?
What remark of yours did I dismiss? And what word did I misuse?

I read the first line of your novella and caught something about the world series, so I dismissed the whole thing for fatuous clichéd crap. If it improved, my apologies. Maybe you shouldn't lede with garbage and bury anything worthwhile.

My grades:
Saunders: 6
Not asked to do much all game, one incredible save. May have been able to do better on goal. Couldn't see his angle.

Williams:5
Not doing much on offense, send a step slow on defense. May not be right since health issue.

Hernandez: 6
His usual steady shift. Obviously missed when he had to come off.

Wingert 5
Not comfortable at CB. Fiery leader on the pitch.

Calle 7
What a revelation to see a FB who can defend and help get forward on attack. Great defending.

Jacobson: 8
Best game from him by far. Looked like the beckerman type we need. Aggressive defending good distribution.

Ballouchy 5
Overall bad game, save for one nice lob to Shelton and the absolutely brilliant goal. How do you miss that sitter?

Grabavoy 5
Involved when he doesn't have to run, but is so slow. Actually played well for a stretch in the first half, then really tailed off. Is knocked off the ball too easily.

Shelton 7
Finally gets the start and shows why he deserved it. Great runs into the box, great assist pass to ballouchy. Faded with the rest of the team at the end.

Villa 6
Not his best game. Maybe trying to do too much by himself? Shame he had to come off at the half.

Nemec 5
Poor with the ball at his feet. But that is not his game. He excels at receiving the long balls and dropping it off to the rest of the team. Looked poised for a goal since we finally started getting some crosses in.

Subs:
Watson siriboe 4
Not a good game for the big guy. Out of position often. Cynical fouling. And missed the header leading to the goal.

Poku 7
Great to see him out there. Held possession and can dribble with anyone. Had a nice shot on goal.

Brovsky 5
Had a nice new haircut. Was that his man left unmarked on the goal? I don't know.
Agree Calle was a pleasant surprise on D. Also limited him to only one speculative 40 yard shot.
Shelton was an 8 even though he ran low on energy at the end. Outstanding ability to hold up the ball. Showed he could step up into Nemec's spot.
Actually thought this was Nemec's best game. Still don't think he should be on the pitch. But best game so far.
Poku. Yes. Can we please see him for more than 10 minutes.
Ballouchy. Just realized his name is Ball Ouchy. It's like the way a 3-year old would name a bad player. Ball Ouchy. That is how I will forever more think of him. Never passes forward. Flubbed a sitter. One good kick does not change who he is as a player.
And yes to Brovsky's much improved do.

Ha! That's a total of about, what, 400 words? Thats the back of a cereal box.

And you're comment on my content being garbage is fair, after all, I thought the same of what you wrote.

Especially the post below.

You do realize that just because you buy a ticket doesn't mean you own the team.

I respect your opinion and right to do whatever you like.

But basing your happiness (or content with your team, since you said "I'll lighten up when..") on their place in the league is foolhardy, unnecessary and against the principals of this game.

I think it's an American problem.

We play the World Series with just our country.

The Super Bowl isn't so super since we are the only ones who play football. If there was relegation in this country and separate football leagues, which by all account they actually should, we might be able to build a culture of support instead of cities like Miami.

We seem to take an immense amount of pride in dismissing the sports we aren't good at and only playing the ones we claim are the greatest, because we can't stand to be bad at anything. That attitude is shown here as well.

We are all entitled to the best of everything, all the time, without exception. If it isn't "the best", then we reject it outright.

This is a country where we measure success by the amount of zero's at the end of our checks.

It sad that we only consider the worth of a person if he is a go-getter or aggressive with business. It's the same with this club, if we aren't first, we are nothing. If we aren't willing to treat players like trash and bench them the second they have a bad game, we aren't serious enough.

Now I don't like Nemac, but he deserves a run out. He is part of the club and deserves a chance, even if it's against my wishes, I will clap and cheer him on.

Just like me, I may be considered a flake for just loving a club in NYC that I can take a train to. I may be considered "not as serious" if I don't whistle and yell at the players for having a bad game. I mean shit, these are people, not FIFA pixels.

It's the same with this club. For some glory hunters, just being a part of it isn't good enough, just singing in the terraces, making new friends and laughing drunken, silly laughs over nothing and everything at once seems to be of too little substance for you, and people of your ilk.

I refuse to base, just as I do with people, the value of this club on what they can do for me.

And as long as you wear blue, I'll be happy to stand right next to you.

Just let me know before you start carping so I can put my headphones in. :)

P.S. - Had a few to drink, sorry for the long winded reply. Had a ton of fun tonight in the stands, especially holding my Sunday Church Third Rail Hymn Sheet
I agree.

I've never liked booing the home team. I'm there to support.

I'm the guy who payed double; to sit 20 feet in front of you; to be in a section that doesn't stand the whole time; so my 10 and 12 year old daughters could come to games and not be blocked; who has since discovered that my section stands the whole time too; who absolutely loves it; who sings along with you; even when you sing you're not singing over there; all game; to the point where my voice is raw after every game.

Can't wait for Sunday.

Amazing! I used to go to games with my Uncle when I was younger and I'll be the first to tell you, your daughters are getting some of the best memories of their lives being with you. The time spent together is priceless for them, as it was for me.

+1

I think Poku will play more. Kries is just being patient. I also am hoping that Mendoza develops into a good option as well. In preseason he was very good just a little out of control. Hopefully the minutes he's playing for Wilmington are helping I do know he scored a goal against Jersey's B team. Calle looked comfortable on defense making a lot of good challenges and was very good coming forward. I think everyone sees who are liabilities and its obvious. Brovsky, Ballouchy, Kwame... not good.

Good thing Algeria decided to show up - must still be bitter about that WC game in 2010

Thank goodness for Mehdi Ballouchy!

Yeah thanks to Mehdi we got 1 pt when we should have had 3. What the fuck did he try to do with that open shot on goal? And then he acts like an arrogant big shot with that celebration. He should have just been happy to save face after that embarrassing miss. I'm glad he got some playing time with Mix out but would have liked to see Tommy Mac get a run out for 20-30 minutes in Ballouchy's place in the 2nd half.

I put the loss down on the defense not on the offense not scoring more. I think the problems there are more pandemic and also more likely to be fixed this season, if Nycfc and CFG want to fix it.

What was the formation we played with last night?

Hopefully our terrible players gain some competence over the course of the season, and our raw players like Shelton can improve (I think he has been overrated in this thread)
See, I see things out of Shelton that I don't out of other guys. He's missing the final ball, for sure, but so does Tommy Thompson. That's potential, though. He's got enough speed to be a threat, he's big (although I do think he needs strength work), and he's technically sound enough to be workable at the MLS level.
Shelton's not an all-star at this point in his career, but the potential is absolutely there. And he's a good bit better than Nemec. Nemec doesn't add much to this team outside of being a bully to pair with Villa.

Blaming CFG for Villa's injuries is like blaming Villa for Sapong's goal.

Given the number of games missed due to injury/international duty, the fact that this is an expansion team that has yet to play 10 games together, the fact that FFL is coming, the possibility that we pick up a 3rd DP over the summer and my belief the Kreis will not settle for this team stinking, I find it hard to believe that we will be anything less than mediocre by season's end.
You're right that there's potential for additions, but there are five or six spots on the field that need upgrades to be MLS quality. You can't get that during the season.
Medhi, the entire back line, Nemec, and Saunders are below average MLS starters, and that may be generous. You can't fix that with an old shuttler in Lampard and an as of yet unnamed third DP.

If I had to guess I would say it was as close to a diamond 442 that we have played all year when we started, but the second half was really weird. Second half looked like this to me:
----------------S--------
--------W----KWS--W---C
-------------Jacobson-----
Ballouchy--Poku-----Shelton
----------Grabavoy------
-----------Nemec---------
