Interesting that Mata is put as 'suspended' and not 'intl duty'?

hang on, if Mata is in international duty how is he "suspended".

I still don't understand why SJ isn't playing.

Because he's suspended for two games, not for "two games that he's with the team for." He's missing this game; it counts. He's still registered as an active NYCFC player even though he won't be here.

Wednesday's Yankees-Rangers game ended at 9:40 p.m. I wonder whether the field was converted at that point. NYCFC kicks off at 3:30 this afternoon, six hours short of a full three days.

The last time an NYCFC home match was scheduled with a turnaround of less than three full days? April 6 against Montreal. That's when we had entire sod panels peeling off, with the grounds crew making emergency repairs at halftime.

I imagine there's nothing magical about 72 hours. In fairness, a "three-day conversion" is about as specific as I've seen about the turnaround timetable. And growing conditions are different between April and September, but just something to keep an eye on. Hoping Ring doesn't get his ankle caught again on a bad patch up the third-base line.
