Immense Pressure On Nycfc............

Having CFG funding NYCFC should be pressure enough to succeed. Throw in the fact that the team is located in NYC where success needs to be achieved rapidly and you're damn right there is a lot of pressure to make the playoffs, no matter how unlikely it is at this point.

I think every expansion teams success is important to the league. NYCFC is being scrutinized for its choices that have lead to an overall low performance given the players we have. I think everyone has questions as to why we chose to bring Pirlo and Lampard. Pirlo just doesn't compliment our team well. There is no one really making up for what he lacks on the pitch so what strengths they expected him to bring just aren't there. Lampard just hasn't worked out for us and probably won't. Its been argued that our players aren't asked to play the right way and that's why we often looked unhinged after 20 mins or so during play. Overall I think its decisions made by the club that are in question. We need to rebuild our core and work around them to improve next season. NYC is a city that breeds championship teams, and we're expected to do great things. The fan base is there, the teams financial backed well. Now its time to recover and make things happen.

I just can't help feeling like once the academy starts producing quality players, we'll be in a better shape. They're cheaper which saves us money that can be spent on quality starters and depth.

Here is the NYCFC season 1 checklist:
- Win the MLS Cup, extreme reach
- Get the to MLS cup, extreme reach
- Get deep into the playoffs, reach
- Get into the playoffs, target
- Be better than the Red Bulls, target
- Sign a shitload of star players, target

Read that linked article above - wow does Lamepard come across as clueless - first saying that "yeah we need to start winning games to get into the playoffs" - no s**** Sherlock, maybe should have started a few months ago??

And then at the end Lamps talks about extending his stay with NYCFC after he's only played three effing games for the club (and played like a run of the mill MLS pool player)...wow. What arrogance. No kidding, getting paid six mil to tour NY and barely play is nice.

Lamps has been BY FAR the worst of the mid season acquisitions. How about that Gerrard, sliding nicely into the LAG lineup? Gio, tearing it up? Drogba only scored a hat trick in his second game...and Lamps, playing three of the possible games since the window opened, no goals, no assists, and the team has lost every game he has played in.

Ok, rant over.
