$20mm pounds??!! We got fleeced!! I wonder if there’s a sell on clause.
I was just going to ask that, and if we did have a sell on clause, is that just money in the family, or does it provide any additional *AM?$20mm pounds??!! We got fleeced!! I wonder if there’s a sell on clause.
Remember when folks were questioning his contributions on the heels of his Boro loan and not stellar stats to start the season with Leeds and that he should be happy with the Championship..... yeah.... those were good takes. £15-20m doesn’t get tossed around for Championship quality players.
By the end of season he was a solid starter for Leeds. I don't know that that translates to Premier League quality. But he's a hardworking, intelligent kid. In any case, I am and would continue to be happy to be wrong.Remember when folks were questioning his contributions on the heels of his Boro loan and not stellar stats to start the season with Leeds and that he should be happy with the Championship..... yeah.... those were good takes. £15-20m doesn’t get tossed around for Championship quality players.

It's probably better for Man City's books if NYCFC don't get it a sell-on fee.Don't think so, the maximum amount of MLS money received would be 650K GAM. And we already got that for the transfer, so we wouldn't get any roster money. We could get additional cash money, but do we really need it if Man City gets it?
Could be both. But here’s the deal, if Leeds wants Harrison, and are willing to front the cost but can’t hit the number CFG is asking (reportedly £15-20m), then either that’s the correct number & there are other suitors willing to pay it, or CFG is playing a game of chicken from a not great vantage point. Because, if the other interest is just subterfuge to drive the price up, and there are no other PL takers, then Harrison will want to go back to Leeds and CFG will have overplayed their hand and have to take a lower amount - since Harrison won’t be happy if CFG plays hardball and keeps him from a club he excelled at all in the name of a few quid (to prove their fortitude negotiating). This is great to read, but I wonder if this site is more about cheerleading for CFG than about reporting what's realistic. 15-20 million pounds is a big price tag.
If there is no sell-on fee, any transfer fee stays within CFG 100%. With a sell-on fee, most of it stays within CFG, and a portion would go to New York Yankees (assuming that the current ownership structure splits revenues based on proportion of ownership and transfer fees aren't handled differently). It's probably better for Man City's books if NYCFC don't get it a sell-on fee.
Also true, but I was getting at is that if there's a sell-on fee, it would reduce Man City's take, which would make their profits look worse and reduce their ability to spend via FFP, at least fairly. If there is no sell-on fee, any transfer fee stays within CFG 100%. Looking very good today. Quick, good reading of the game, tidy on the ball and making astute decisions.!! Ben White! I use him in my FM savegame! He's great.
Right fit of team, coach, style for him after that disaster at Middlesbrough.Looking very good today. Quick, good reading of the game, tidy on the ball and making astute decisions.
Haha I was talking about Ben White (admittedly confusing because of the thread). But yeah Jack has kicked on and just scored.Right fit of team, coach, style for him after that disaster at Middlesbrough.
Good read, great kid. Hope he gets to achieve his dream of playing well in the PL. Love the Lampard thighs quote hahahaha. Glad to know that our older DPs, while we have many qualms about their contracts and pay, were at least very willing to help out the younger kids and such in the squad. Obviously Villa, Pirlo, and Lamps have a ton of experience, but to hear about them going out of their ways to teach and help Jack is awesome. Maybe they did a lot more off the pitch than we realized.Really good write-up by Phil Hay about Jack: https://theathletic.com/1236535/201...ut-jack-harrisons-mother-is-the-biggest-star/
As NYCFC fans we know his back story pretty well at this point. But I've always enjoyed Phil's Leeds pieces and he pulls out some more expansive quotes from Harrison and people like Vieira and Villa.
