Depends on which browser you are using, but the principle is similar:

Internet Explorer: Right-click the picture you want, select "Properties" and in the window that opens up, copy everything on the line next to "Address (URL)"

Chrome: Right-click the picture you want and select "Copy image address"

Firefox: Right-click the picture you want and select "Copy image location"

Each of these will then give you a URL for the picture you were looking at, i.e. a direct link to the picture in question. This is what you saw in joe's post. You can then paste it straight into a forum post so people can follow the link.

If you've got a picture URL there's a code you can use on the forums to actually paste the picture itself into your post, rather than just linking to its location, but that's a story for another day.
