It's one thing to build a team.D_RoyJenkins what you're missing is that Garth Lagerway built that team. Not Kreis. Kreis rode his coat tails in RSL and we got snookered into hiring him.
It's another to make them win.

Dude I have watched every game since the first exhibition game vs St. Mirren in the UK. Saunders has been playing well above his head this year. But trust me Saunders is at best a backup in this league, a very good backup. Hernandez is young? Which Hernandez are you talking about? Hernandez a City Elite Youth Player? Not following what your saying here....If it wasn't for Saunders in a lot of the matches we'd be dead last, literally. So to say that Saudners doesn't belong on this team is bullshit and you must not have watched a lot of games. Hernandez hasn't been terrible but not amazing either but he's young (City Elite Youth Player) and still has to develop. Wingert, Grabavoy, Mullins, Shelton, Nemec, can all be cut right now if it was possible.
Jurgen Klopp would be a fantastic get, and CFG could probably make it worth his while, BUT we'd need a real team for Klopp to manage. I'm skeptical that's even possible for at least a few more seasons.
Frankly I think we have to get through the Lampard/Pirlo/Villa years (okay, Villa may stick around longer than those guys) and into an era when our DPs could be here for four years as serious players before this team becomes the cup machine we want.
We need time to build a real squad. CFG have built a squad that people want to come see (once Lampard and Pirlo start playing), and, remember, CFG needs to *make money*, not *win*. In many leagues the two go hand in hand, but winning the MLS Cup is not exactly the payday that winning the EPL is. CFG have started smartly with an expansion team which puts asses in seats. That's an amazing beginning! NEXT, the real work can begin of crafting a winning team.
We will definitely see a well-known European name manager at NYCFC in the near future. But not until it aligns with a squad really capable of winning.
I completely made a mistake with Hernandez, sorry haha.Dude I have watched every game since the first exhibition game vs St. Mirren in the UK. Saunders has been playing well above his head this year. Sorry, but there is o.0000000001% chance Klopp will ever coach NYC and I also disagree that they will get a well known European manager. If anything, the best name European that NYC will possess for the foreseeable future is a former world class player with very little or no experience.
You'll see! YOU'LL ALL SEE!Also Jurgen Klopp?
lol Np it happens.I completely made a mistake with Hernandez, sorry haha.
There's a whole lot of crazy in this thread. Kreis deserves at least until the middle of next season, and I assume he'll be around longer than that. It's an expansion team, there are going to be growing pains. NYCFC has such an impatient, whiny fan base. Have some perspective, it's July of the club's first season. All is not lost.
Also Jurgen Klopp? I mean come on. It's hard to see a coach of that quality settling for Liverpool, let alone MLS.
