Lampard And Pirlos Reception From The Crowd

Hi guys, I watched the game on sunday but the UK coverage didnt really show much of the two new signings.
My question is what reaction did they get when they were on the big screen or were they introdcued at half time?

Only i noticed a lot of people saying they were going to boo Lampard first time round, did this happen ?

They came on the field for pregame but weren't announced. No halftime appearance. Lampard and Pirlo were put on the big screen during the game and the crowd cheered, but with no separate Lampard appearance or sighting, you can't tell whether the crowd wants to boo him by himself.

In my area (behind the goal opposite the supporters) people immediately began chanting "We want Pirlo!" It was almost like Lampard wasn't even there.
We had the same chant going on in the supporter's section.

I went back and watched the first 30 minutes of the game on watchESPN. I think that jumbotron shot of him and Lampard was completely set up by the team. Just a few minutes before the shot of him and Lampard, they showed Pirlo with his girlfriend and kids. Then, just a couple minutes later, there he is with Lampard and the crowd goes nuts. I think NYCFC knew there was a possibility Lampard could get booed, so why not stick him next to Pirlo for a quick cheer.

When Pirlo and Lampard came out during warmups, my section and I got excited and were cheering and yelling, but the guys next to me only recognized Pirlo and didn't notice Lampard until I pointed him out. Then they jeered a bit about "Fat Frank", but mostly the excitement was directed at Pirlo.

When the "we want Pirlo" chant started after the Jumbotron shot of them together it spread around the stadium pretty quickly. I felt a little bad that Lamps didn't get a shoutout, but I didn't hear him booed either.

For me, when they showed up unannounced at warmups, it really boosted the atmosphere. Of course, during the second half I got pretty embarrassed that they were there to see it.

When they showed them together on the video screen the crowd went wild and Lampard cracked a big smile that almost looked like he was relived people didn't boo. Of course the team set it up perfectly by sitting him next to Pirlo so no one could even think of booing.

Some will still boo the first time he gets introduced. Most have moved on at this point but there are still a few that can't let things go and have been counting the days till they get their chance to boo him.

Eh that's because we already have Lampard and we want Pirlo as in we want him signed. At least that's how I took it.

Yeah but you are proving my point -- no one paid attention to Lampard (for whatever reason).

I am right by the tunnel to the stadium when I saw them both come out people were rushing over to the railing asking for autographs and photos. They need more security in my section to protect the health and safety of those who actually have tickets in this section and have the right to be there.
